My role model
My role model inspired me to write this essay. He is a respectable and wise person.
He is trying to develop the minds of people. My role model is Monk W.Vajiramedhi. He is a
monk in Thailand. W.Vajiramedhi stands for Phamaha Wudhijaya Vajiramedhi. He has a
viewpoint for the role of journalism in modern Thai society, focusing on the needs for ethics
and morality.
W.Vajiramedhi is originally from Amphoe Chiang Khong in Chiangrai province.
He has loved to read everything. So, he has absorbed a lot of knowledge of all kinds. In his
younger days, his mother used to take him to the temple for merit-making every Buddhist
Sabbath. This gave him the inspiration to study Buddhist tenets and preaching. He
conscientiously studied the Buddhist doctrines in the scholastic discipline to the first-class
scholar level. At the age of 21, he was ordained a monk at his hometown temple and moved
to reside at Wat Benchamabopitr Dusitvanaram in Bangkok to continue his Pali studies until
he graduated at the ninth level, which is the highest level of education for Thai clergy.
W. Vajiramedhi graduated as a Master of Buddhist Studies from Mahachulalongkorn
Rajavidyalaya University. He is a guest-lecturer in Buddhist Studies at many institutions. Not
only is he a thinker and writer but he has constantly practiced meditation more than 10 years.
He has nearly 20 books in print such as Dhamma Tid Peek, Dhamma Lab Sabai, Dhamma
Bundan etc. He founded “Rai Chern Tawan” international meditation center and “Website
WWW.dhammatoday.com”.
W.Vajiramedhi powered Buddhism to the international community. He raises
awareness and change in educational philosophy extensively in Thailand. His philosophy
gives me inspiration. I can bring it to life. He is a role model for everyone to follow. All of
his ability does not come with him since was born. Everything was created from intension,
endeavor, ambition and many factors. I think him good example of how people should think
about their lifestyle. I think he is worthy enough to play a lead role in this particle. He
extremely impresses me.
