8. Early Childhood Centre “Tsaf – Tsouf”

It is addressed to children from 6 to 12 years old. The
programme aims at:
Children’s after school creative occupation, through
singing, playing, painting, discussing,
Exploiting properly children’s leisure time,
Motivating & challenging children,
Supporting mothers who work.
The centre may be linked to the educational institutions,
social services and cultural services, etc.

This is not so strange. Kilkis is not a famous ancient city of the classic period or the Macedonian Kingdom era. The modern city of Kilkis , seat of the prefecture bearing the same name, is the agricultural, commercial and transportation centre of the whole prefecture. In the industrial zone operate SMEs in the field of constructions, wearing, textile, food, etc. The city has significant sights, which are worth seeing and admiring: On the hill of Agios Georgios , the landscape is dominated by the post-Byzantine church of the same name, built in 1830, with an amazing wood carved chancel screen. In the same area is situated the excellent, two storied cave of Kilkis, with an amazing decor of stalactites and stalagmites, one of the most important caves in Greece. Kilkis has Archaeological, Folk and War Museums with important exhibits.
The Municipal Utility Company of Kilkis (K.D.E.K.) set up on 2007. AIMS , as its name indicates, at the social protection and solidarity in the area of Kilkis, through a series of structural interventions, while working as a Municipal Authority helper. The company is administered by a seven-member Board of Directors , appointed by the City Council of Kilkis Municipality. “ K.D.E.K.” in the short period it’s operating, it has carried out considerable work in a variety of sensitive fields of the local social life. The staff working in the structures run by KDEK is 28 employees (psychologists, nurses, social workers, kindergarten teacher, physical therapists, artists, etc). The staff is assisted by groups of volunteers that contribute to the common objective of social protection and solidarity for various social groups in the area of Kilkis. The organization will exchange best practices with the other member partners in the field of volunteering and it will be actively involved in all the stages of the project. “ K.D.E.K.” runs seven (7) social policy structures of Kilkis, namely:
This structure makes part of the primary social care services. This action expands the quantitative and qualitative primary social care to citizens. The Services provided are: Social Work Nursing and Family Assistance at home and Development of social and operational skills to meet basic needs. Emphasis is given to the elderly people, as well as to people with disabilities who live alone or with their family and they risk isolation, or social exclusion, family crisis and who are likely to be institutionalized and to worsen their quality of life. Personnel: 1 Psychologist, 1 Nurse, 3 Family Assistants
“ Help at Home” programme aiming at providing social care services to elderly people and to people with disabilities. The services are offered in the Municipal Clusters of Lipsindrio and Megali Vrisi. The Personnel involved consists of: 1 Psychologist, 1 Social Worker, 2 Nurses, 4 Family Assistants.
2) To occupy children from 6-12 years old. 5) The staff of this structure consists of: 1 Gymnast, 1 Music Teacher, 1 ICT teacher
3) Children stay at school AFTER SCHOOL WORKING HOURS, in a pleasant & creative environment, where children spend their time through singing, playing, painting, discussing. Staff: Social Worker, Gymnast, Physiotherapist, Driver, Painter, Potter, 2 Social Caretakers, cleaning woman
