3. WHAT THE CHILD NEEDS TO DO
IN TIMES OF LOSS AND GRIEVING
• Accept the pain of the loss
• Remember and review the relationship with the loved person
• Become familiar with all the different feelings that are part of grief, anger, sadness,
despair
• Express his sorrow, anger and sense of loss to others
• Find an acceptable formulation for a future relationship with the deceased
• Verbalize feelings of guilt
• Find a network of caretakers
