While other technologies remain stagnant or show modest upward
trends in adoption among the 50+, tablet adoption is increasing at
the fastest rate, particularly in the past 14 months. The numbers,
overall, are still low, however, compared to other devices.
The tablet market continues
to be the strongest growing
technology device among
the 50+, particularly among
the 50 -59 year olds where
over a quarter of them now
own tablets.

Although they are less versatile than tablets, e -readers remain a
consistent favorite of older adults of all ages. Their low cost, simplicity,
and ability to accommodate readers with vision or dexterity problems
make them a good technological choice for older adopters.
