Suncokret Center for Community Development in Croatia is looking for volunteers!
Community Recovery Program through Volunteer activities
WHO: Young people (18-30 years old) from Erasmus + program countries
DURATION: 59 days, short term
WHERE: Suncokret Center for Community Development, Vrginmost, Municipality of Gvozd, Croatia
OUR VACANCIES!
We have several ESC Short term volunteering opportunities available at the Suncokret Community Center.
We are looking for young people (18-30 years old) for each 2 month period listed below.
February and March 2023,
March and April 2023
April and May 2023
June and July 2023
September and October 2023
January and February, March and April 2024
ACTIVITIES: Youth will be involved in activities with children and youth (arts and crafts, sports, music,
dance, games, non-formal learning, workshops etc.), social inclusion activities, environmental awareness
and sustainability activities, eco gardening and much more. Volunteers will plan, organize and implement
everyday activities and workshops with children and youth.
ABOUT US: Suncokret Center for Community Development runs both a local volunteer center and a
community center in a beautiful rural postwar area. At the Suncokret community center we provide
afterschool nonformal learning activities for the local children and youth in the community. We provide
everything from educational activities, tutoring, homework help to arts and crafts, games, sports, fun and
creative workshops. We also conduct environmental awareness education, sustainability workshops, eco
gardening and maintaining our organic gardens and orchards and conduct eco construction activities.
As with other volunteer projects, there is a reimbursement of travel expenses up to a maximum limit set by
the European Commission. Food, accommodation, language courses, training, tutoring, monthly pocket
money and insurance are covered by the program.
