Horn

powers. You can see immediately that the
prophecy has to deal with years and not days.

15. The Key to the Prophecy
 Eze. 4:6 And when thou hast accomplished
them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt
bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty
days: I have appointed thee each day for a
year.
 Num. 14:34 After the number of the days in
which ye searched the land, [even] forty days,
each day for a year, shall ye bear your
iniquities, [even] forty years, and ye shall know
my breach of promise.

16. How Long Shall Be The
Vision?
 Remember vision deals with
world Empires…many years.
 Daniel 8:14 “And he said unto
me, Unto two thousand and
three hundred days; then shall
the sanctuary be cleansed.

19. Points To Remember
 When this vision was given, Israel was in captivity and
there was no Sanctuary at Jerusalem.
 Nevertheless we can learn from the former Sanctuary
principles to see what the cleansing of the Sanctuary
indicates.
 The cleansing of the Sanctuary is after these world
Empires have expired or 2300 years later. Then the
sanctuary is to be cleansed
 This would be after Pagan Roman Empire that fell in 476
A.D. and the Papal Roman Empire fell in 1798.
 Once again, this would be at a time when there is no
worldly Sanctuary.
 The only Sanctuary at that time was the heavenly.

29. Who is Talking?
 Dan. 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and
another saint said unto that certain [saint] which
spake, How long [shall be] the vision [concerning]
the daily [sacrifice], and the transgression of
desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host
to be trodden under foot?
 Who are these two saints? (saints means holy ones to
two celestial beings)
 Answer: verse 16 Gabriel make this man to
understand the vision……Who tells Gabriel what to
do? It is Jesus!
 Thus it is Jesus who gives the 2300 year prophecy.
 Note how Christ-centered is the prophecy.

30. What did the different sections of the sanctuary and their ceremonies mean?
THE COURTYARD Surrounding the sanctuary, was the place where all
sacrifices were made. These all pointed forward to Christ's one sacrifice - His
death on the cross.

31. THE HOLY PLACE: While the courtyard was the place of
sacrifice, the Holy Place was the place of intercession.
Only the priests, symbolising Christ, could enter the Holy
Place to approach God. The holy place is usually referred to
as the first apartment of the sanctuary.

32. The Heart of the Sanctuary
“The Most Holy”
 1. Sanctuary deals with the sin problem
 2. The Law in the Ark reveals sin
 3. The Law is untouchable and eternal
 4. Only an antichrist would be brazen enough to try
to tamper with the Law of God
 5. The final “Day of Atonement” does not come
until Jesus appears at His second coming
 6. That will be the time of the final eradication of sin
from the heavenly Sanctuary

sanctuary trodden under foot…. The host.

37. The 2300 Year prophecy
 Dan. 8:13 During the Middle Ages or during the 2300 year
prophecy
 Dan.11:31 & 12:11 both point to the time when the
abomination is set up. The word “they” indicates two powers
working together to take away the daily. (political and religious)
 The date was 508 when the Arian Christian element gave in to
the dominant Catholic power and the Papal priesthood was set
up with the confessional box. This took the place of Jesus
forgiving sin in heaven.
 The Catholic Priesthood is “the abomination of
desolation” and it took away the daily (continual) intercessory
work of Jesus in the heavenly sanctuary. This is how the
Sanctuary was trodden under foot.

38. How Does the Cleansing
Work?
 There four things to be cleansed
 1. The Daily
 2. The Abomination of Desolation
 3. The Cleansing of the Sanctuary Atonement
 4. the Host - The persecuted saints during Papal
reign
 All four deal with the Sanctuary cleansing. Although
our emphasis has been on the judgment cleansing
of the Sanctuary, these four are part of the 2300 year
prophecy message that was to be corrected.

40. The Time Element
 When does the prophecy start?
 Dan. 9:23 9:23 At the beginning of thy supplications the
commandment came forth, and I am come to show [thee];
for thou [art] greatly beloved: therefore understand the
matter, and consider the vision.
 The only vision in consideration is Daniel 8 or the 2300
year Prophecy
 There is a breakdown for the time element
 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and
upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to
make an end of sins, (offerings) and to make
reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting
righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy,
and to anoint the most Holy.

from the going forth of the commandment to restore
and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall
be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the

The decree to rebuild was in the year 457 B.C. In
the fall of the year. (Ezra 6:14)
It is important to remember that the prophecy
started in the fall.

 1843 Add the 0 year and you have 1844
 To cleans the Sanctuary was only done on the
Day of Atonement. The Sanctuary was
cleansed from all sin by the High Priest. We
are dealing with the heavenly sanctuary, this
side of the cross and this tells us that Judgment
started on the house of God in 1844.
 The Day of Atonement, cleansing of Sanctuary,
in 1844 was on October 22.

seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:
 69 weeks times 7 or 483 years brings you down to 27 A.D.
 This was the beginning of the ministry of Jesus.
 Verse 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one
week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice
and the oblation to cease,
 In the midst of the week = 3 12 yrs. Ministry of Jesus
 Sacrifice = Jesus Oblation = Ceremonial service ceases

46. At the Cross
 Messiah to be cut off in the midst of the week or after 3
12 years of ministry
 He died in the spring at Easter time. Therefore,
considering the 12 year, His ministry had to start in the
fall. It started when he was 30 years of age. Therefore the
birth of Jesus had to be in the fall. (probably September or
October) This prophecy is exact even to the season of the
year.
 The prophecy started in the fall of 457 B.C.
 The prophecy was confirmed in midst of
week
 The ministry of Jesus was 3 12 years.

Add it up
 The 490 years brought us down to the fall of 34
A.D.
 Take the 490 years from the 2300 and you have
1810 years left.
 Add the 1810 years to the 34 and you come to
the 1844 date once again.

W. Miller - A Baptist Preacher
 It was known as the Great Advent Movement.
 This Advent Movement started about 1834 to1844
 Blowing of the Trumpets, ten days before the Day of
Atonement – to remind people that the judgment is
coming
 Within 10 years about 150,000 converts and the world
was warned that the judgment was starting.
