1. What is Recruitment?
Recruitment is the process of finding possible candidates for a job or a
function. In recruitment Advertising is commonly part of the recruiting process. Every firm invest a
big amount for the Advertising it’s company.
Mostly a company gives the advertisement for the recruitment. They give advertisement
through several means; like Newspaper, Professional Publication, using ADVERTISEMENT

Defination of Recruitment—
The process of finding and hiring the best-qualified candidate (from within
or outside of an organization) for a job opening, in a timely and cost effective manner. The

1) Newspaper—
The newspapers are still a powerful source of information. Many people start the day with coffee and
newspapers. They browse the news from the world or neighborhood. They see the advertisement. Many
people look quickly at the job opportunities advertised on the relevant pages. The newspapers have also
specialized sections for the job adverts. The advertisers compete for the visibility. The newspaper job
advertisement is the most traditional recruitment source. The newspaper advertisement
is easy to use, and each small company can start advertising of job vacancies because this
source of advertisement is not only easy but also cheap.

Television is also a good way for recruitment adv. On television firm gave the advertisement of
their empty posts & attract the employers to contact them and join in their firm. Many times
some companies also give the programme on business chanels like Zee business & CNBC etc. In
those programme they informed people about their firm & activity.
3) Mobile— In present days every one has mobile. Because of it the communication is
faster. Some companies get the numbers of customers of some particular area/all. &
via sms or call they informed people about their vacancy or company. This type of
markrting is also known as telemarketing. So less firms use this way.
4) Internet— Internet is the modern and fastest way for advertising. A company informed
the people of hole the world about them. There are also many job portals on internet
where employer can submitted their bio-data and contact details & company contact
them. Job portals like “timesjob.com, naukri.com” are famous in india. Now days social
sites are also the good way for advertising for companies. Many recruitment agency
also use this type of way.
Educational Institutes— Various Educational institute are invite the various national &
multinational firms and those companies takes the fittes employees for their company
direct from the campus of colleges or universities.
Placement Agencies— The placement agency might be private or government. But the
work of both are the same, to supply the employers for the high level job.
o Private Agencies- People submitted their bio-data to agency by attracting their
Advertisement or holdings. After this agency called them for interview and select
some employers. After that company called those selected persons for interview
and select perfect employer. In this process some agencies take the commission
from the employer or some agencies get the commission from the company as
per their contract with company.
Labour Contractors— Labour contractors are for supplying the employers of law level &
middle level. They get the bio data of employees & give them to companies. They do a
contract with different firms to supply them labours as per their requirements.
Gate Hiring— The concept of gate hiring is to select people who approach on their own
for employement in the organization. This only happens in the case of unskilled or semi
skilled people.

4. Internal Sources of Recruitment—
Some times company fill the empty post by the sources which are inside of
the company, it means by internal sources. Like Transfer, promotion, retired
employees, recommendation, Interview etc.
Transfer— The employees are transferred from one department to another
according to their efficiency and experience. Every time the the reason of
transfer are not same. Many times on a place employers are more than
necessity & on other place there are shortage of employers then company
transferred some employees from department to another department.
Promotion— The employees are promoted from lower level to higher level it
calls Promotion. In promotion the Responsibility, Rights, Salary etc. thinks are
increases. The Promotion is also a activity to inspire employees.
Retired and Retrenched employees— Retire may also be recruited once again
in case of shortage of qualified personnel or increase in load of work.
Recruitment such people save time and costs of the organisations as the
people are already aware of the organisational culture and the policies and
procedures.
Recommandation— Sometimes a person on higher level are recommandate
his family member to selection committee to take him/her as employer. With
this the extra cost of recruitment can be saved but it might be possible that,
that person can not satisfied the expectation of company.
