We’ll show you quite a bit of information, so you can see three important factors:First, that two axis tracking systems, like our InteliTrack systems, produce more energy than fixed panels or one-axis tracking systems.Second, that by producing more energy from each panel, InteliTrack systems allow you to use fewer panels and other components, so the total system cost is lowest.And third, InteliTrack systems are very simple, and very reliable.
But two-axis tracking systems have not been widely adopted in the US, largely because of concerns about reliability.Most two-axis trackers are mounted on a pole, and are pretty complicated, with lots of moving parts.The weight of the panels is concentrated on the top of the pole, and strong winds blowing can create a lot of stresses on the edges of the panels, and high torque on the point where the panel meets the pole.Systems like this require a foundation, which adds a lot of cost.InteliTrack systems are very different. They are much simpler, with only two moving parts – the actuator and the bearing.The weight of the panels is spread out, not concentrated on a single spot. So no foundation is needed.And even high wind loads are OK, because the load is distributed over the panels. So IntelliTrack systems can withstand winds up to 150 mph.
