2. The City Palace stands on the
eastern bank of the Lake Pichola.
It is a massive series of palaces built
at different times beginning from
1559.
The various palaces like Dilkhush
mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Mahal
and Krishna vilas were built in the
memory of a princess of great
beauty who committed suicide by
taking poison to avert a bloody
battle for her hand by rival princes.
3. The Lake Palace was
built in 1743 – 1746.
This marble
construction is situated
on the Jag Niwas Island
in Lake Pichola.
Originally built as a
royal summer palace, it
is now a luxury 5-star
hotel.
4. Jag Mandir is an island in Lake Pichola. It is famous for its garden
courtyard.
Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan took refuge here while he revolted
against his father.

There are a number of Ghats and from the City Palace of Udaipur
there are boats to take you there.
In the middle of the lake stands the Lake Palace, which has now
been converted into a heritage palace hotel.

group of eight young women attendants
of a princess of Udaipur as a part of her
dowry.
The garden is situated below the
embankment of the Fateh Sagar Lake
and is made stunning with lotus pools,
elephant shaped fountains and marble

The fountains are fed by the lake
waters.
