George Meek chose the genre of acoustic pop because it is popular with many famous artists and therefore has a large market for up-and-coming artists. Acoustic pop involves the use of acoustic rather than electric instruments in pop music performances and arrangements. Acoustic pop magazine covers typically feature a solo artist or full band in a mid or full-body shot against a plain background, sometimes including a guitar, with the artists displaying docile expressions reflective of the music.

genre with many famous artists who create music within
it. It is widely-recognised and therefore has a big market
for new up-coming artists.

arrangement, or performance that does not feature
electronic amplification or modification; (Pop Music) (of a
performer or performance of popular music) using
acoustic rather than electric instruments.
4. Commonalities in Acoustic Pop
Magazines
S Acoustic Pop Magazines usually have a plain background
on the front cover, with a mid-shot of a solo artist, or a
full-body shot of a group or band. Sometimes they would
use a full-body shot of a solo artist in order to include an
accessory such as a guitar.
5. More Commonalities
S The artist or artists on the front cover usually have quite a
docile expression on their faces which is also reflected in
their music.
6. What to include on my Front
Cover
S On my front cover, I should include plain colours in the
background and clothes of the artist, and also have an
‘artist’ who has a relaxed pose and expression. I should
have the artist/s where smart-casual clothes such as a
shirt and skinny jeans.
