2. Happy Alone
Matrix & Futurebound
I like this song as I like the feel good beat it has about
it. When hearing this song for the first time, it stood out
to me. Better still, in the planning of my research there
has been no music video created for this song yet. This
means that I do not have opportunity to have to divert
my music video away from the one which already
exists. It also means that my work is not similar. As it is
a drum and bass song, it is not one that fits in to the
genre in which I was going to use my music video in.
This means that I would have to create a video for a
song which had a very strong beat.
3. Growing Up (Sloanes Song)
Macklemore & Ed Sheeran
This song is a slow, but powerful ballad. It starts off with
an acoustic feel, but the lyrics are very meaningful. The
song is about reliving memories about childhood and
growing up in life. I like this song, and I feel with the
right actors I could make the music video to this song
stand out. Similarly to the first song, this also doesn’t
have a music video. I was thinking of including parents
and their children. By looking at generations of families,
I could relate it to the lyrics in the song. The location
would be at the families house, and I would try to
include people from every background of life.
4. Pursuit of Happiness
Kid Ink
Out of the different songs I have looked at, this one has a
music video which I don’t actually like. It features the
rappers from the song and it is mainly just them singing to
the camera. One technique I do think goes well in this music
video is the use of slow motion. This is done to emphasise
the slow tempo of the song, and also the mood of the song
which is quite urban. When creating this music video for this
song, I want to use London as the location and feature a city
in it. I also want to contrast the lyrics of the song where it
says they are trying to find happiness, similarly I can show
pride and joy towards the end.
