treatment center G&G Holistic, the clinical and
operational staff believes the most effective way to
treat dependency on alcohol or drugs includes a
holistic, cleansing approach focused on psychotherapy,
spirituality, and physiology. G&G Holistic serves as
the administrator of the Holistic Addiction Treatment
Program, an alcohol and substance abuse recovery
methodology that emphasizes nontraditional
medicines, such as auricular acupuncture.

3. Auricular acupuncture, also known as auriculotherapy,
refers to the stimulation of the external parts of the ear
using acupuncture needles or other devices. A number
of different medical professionals may perform the
form of acupuncture, including chiropractors,
physicians, osteopathic doctors, physical therapists,
and reflexology therapists. Practitioners of auricular
acupuncture believe the outer portion of the ear serves
as a microsystem for the rest of the body and that by
stimulating the ear in different places they can
diagnosis and heal disorders and conditions elsewhere
in the patient. In addition to using needles,
practitioners may apply physical pressure, magnets, ear
pellets, or lasers to activate the ear’s acupuncture or
reflex points.

4. Over the years, practitioners of auricular acupuncture
have found the alternative medical approach successful
in controlling pain, relieving nausea, treating drug and
alcohol addictions, and reducing cases of hypertension.
The effectiveness of auricular acupuncture stems
largely from an ability to correct reflex centers in the
brain, placing the patient into a more homeostatic
condition, which reduces experiences of pain or stress.
The ear contains some 250 reflex points, each one
producing a different effect on various body parts and
common afflictions.
