Gil Schwartzberg is the former Board Chairman and CEO of the City of Hope National Medical Center. He is now a consultant with Lixte Biotechnology Holdings, Inc., a biotech company that he cofounded which works to improve treatment for cancer patients. Schwartzberg has been dedicated to the fight against cancer ever since he was a child. He became a member of the City of Hope National Medical Center’s Professions and Finance support auxiliary in 1977. Schwartzberg has also been largely involved in his community, working with the Girl Scouts Council, the Junior Blind of America, and the Buckley School. He is also an amateur historian.
