The seminar was targeted to provide basic idea of PLC (programmable logic
controller), SCADA and Industrial Automation. It is used in plant for automatic
work with the help of programming. SCADA is a purely software package that
is positioned on top of hardware to which it is interfaced in general via PLC. It
is used in power plant and oil industries also.

3. 2. Embedded systems, 8051 Microcontroller, autonomous robotics -
MITBOTS An IIT-DELHI Alumni initiative – Duration one month
Embedded systems are a combination of hardware and software to provide a
result within given time frame. 8051 microcontroller was developed by Intel
in1980 for use in embedded systems. The first digitally operated and
programmable robot was installed in 1961 to lift hot pieces of metal from a
die casting machine and stack them.
