summer programs begin the week of June 3, 2013 (unless stated
otherwise). All programs must meet a minimum number of
participants to be held. Please register early for programs!
Drop-ins are only permitted if space allows.
Note: Most program fees have an additional charge for non-residents.
A resident is any person living within The Woodlands Township
boundaries.

Join us for an outrageous, crazy, wild, insane summer at Sunny Dayz Camp 2013!
Ages: Explorers: 6 - 8 (must have completed kindergarten);

Sunny Dayz Camp - Counselor-in-Training
Counselors-in-Training (CITs) are requested to attend the 7 a.m.
Monday staff meetings for the weeks requested, in addition to attendance
at biweekly teambuilding activities. Training includes five Counselor-in-
Training camp shirts, weekly planning, field trip prep, safety, arts and
crafts assistance, activity prep and much more! Ages: 13 - 15. Fee: $75
week plus $100 supply fee.
Lessons on the Go: Rock Band Academy
Rock out in a real band! Campers are grouped into bands of their own age
group. Each band creates their own band name and band posters, then
learns performance skills and a song to perform on the last day of camp
before a live audience. Instruments include guitar, bass, drums, piano and
voice. Beginners are welcome (guitarists and bassists strongly encouraged to
bring their own instruments). Taught by Lessons on the Go instructors,
fee includes a T-shirt. Ages: 7 to 18. Fee: $350 Resident, family discounts
available. *No camp on July 4, 2013.

Fashion Designer
Young girls will design their own fashions. Design principles in the areas
of sketching, color and pattern coordination and cultural fashion history
will be applied to their individual style. Girls will be grouped into design
teams for a variety of fun activities, such as White Wedding, Fashion

Harry Potter School
Calling all “Muggles!” Training begins by dividing students into
“houses” with the sorting hat. Students will make dragon drool, invisible

A World of Angry Birds
Build structures then demolish them while trying to knock down the
green pigs! Use a variety of building materials and slingshot “birds”

Learn to Swim at Sunny Dayz Camp - NEW
Our Learn to Swim Program is offering lessons at Bear Branch Pool
this summer to Sunny Dayz campers. Learn to Swim Instructors will
sign out and escort your child from camp to the pool, facilitate the
lesson, escort your child back to camp and sign them back in.
Fee: $55 after $10 discount for being a Sunny Dayz Camper!

design, create, and improve solutions to an engineering problem. Topics

engineering (surgical instruments), electrical engineering (flashlight).

Engineering for Kids - Energy Solutions
Using the Engineering Design Process students design, create, test, and
refine basic solutions related to alternative energy and environmental
issues. Projects expose students to a variety of engineering disciplines
including environmental, civil, chemical, and industrial engineering.
Young future engineers will create solutions to pipeline problems, oil
spills, water turbines and wind turbine generation, and conservation of

LEGO I Pre K Engineering
Trained instructors use LEGO Duplo and K’NEX to build math and
science skills. Using specially designed building kits with gears, levers and
pulley. Build simple machines that really work, while building fine motor
skills and confidence, then perform scientific experiments. Several new
and exciting machines are built each day. Improves literacy by memorizing
poems in conjuction with hand motions for gears, levers and pulleys.

Build simple machines using gears, levers and pulley and then motorize

or slow down. Fun filled class atmosphere builds fine motor skills, critical

Medical Minds: Biomedical Engineering
Summer Evening Youth Program
Biomedical Engineering helps people through the combination of
medicine and technology. Explore the development and manufacturing
of prostheses, medical devices, diagnostic equipment and therapeutic
devices. Students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create,
test, and refine basic solutions related to insulation, artificial heart valves,
prosthetics, surgical instruments, and model thermometers.

Fury Baseball Instructional Camp
This clinic offers instruction that includes all aspects
of the game, including proper mechanics and
fundamentals. Instruction is given by Fury Baseball

Fencing Camp for Beginners
Raise your fitness, both mentally and physically, while learning this
exciting sport. Our instructors are from the Bayou City Fencing Academy

Take a step beyond the basics! Improve basketball skills while building
the confidence with Coach Marv Johnson. Sessions include

brings with him the knowledge, passion and skills to

Multi-phase training program for new runners or those coming off of an
injury. Participants train following the program developed by RRCA-

Phase I: Builds a running base to increase strength and endurance
that increases in intensity and distance. Includes weekly group runs for
networking and motivation. Orientation: Saturday, April 27, 9 a.m.

There will be fun for the whole family at the Texas-sized race and post-race party! The
post-race party begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration will be done online! Register before
Friday, May 31, 2013, and pay $50; from June 1 - October 7, 2013, registration

TOWNSHIP PROGRAM / EVENT WAIVER AND RELEASE
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in any program, activity or event, (referred to herein as the “Program”) sponsored by, performed by, or in
any way involving The Woodlands Township, I, as Participant, or if Participant is a minor, as parent or guardian of the minor Participant (herein referred to as “I”) and
intending to be legally bound do hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:
• I hereby waive, discharge, and release any and all rights and claims for damages whether based upon negligence or any other theory of law, which I, or my child,
heirs, agents, representatives, or assigns may have against The Woodlands Township, and its affiliates, agents, representatives, assigns, or successors including,
without limitation: any officers, directors, shareholders, agents and/or employees of or associated with The Woodlands Township, the municipalities or counties in
or through which the programs or events take place or are conducted, as well as any other person, entity or sponsor connected with the Program and any of their
affiliates, agents, representatives, assigns, successors, officers, directors, shareholders, and employees, for any and all injuries or damages which I, or my child, may
suffer while taking part in the Program.
• I hereby assume any and all of the foregoing risks resulting from my, or my child’s, participation in the Program and accept all personal responsibility for any
resulting damage including, but not limited to, injury, permanent disability or death.
• I hereby verify that I, or my child, am/is in good physical health and able to participate in and/or complete the Program.
• I hereby agree to indemnify and hold The Woodlands Township harmless from and against all liabilities for any injury which may be suffered by the Participant
arising out of or in any way connected with his/her participating in the Program.
• I have read and fully understood this Waiver and Release. I further understand that by participating in the Program, I/we will have waived substantial rights.
• I have knowingly and voluntarily agreed to this Waiver and Release.

I affirm and acknowledge that I, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for the Participant, do consent and agree to his/her release as provided by the Waiver and
Release herein.
MEDIA/PHOTO WAIVER
I hereby authorize and give my full consent to The Woodlands Township and their agents and assigns to take, copyright and/or publish any and all photographs,
videotapes and/or film (the “Media”) in which I, or my child, may appear while participating in the Program. I further authorize that The Woodlands Township to
transfer, use or cause to be used, the Media in any exhibitions, public displays, publications, commercials, art and advertising purposes, without limitations
or reservations.
