This document outlines a study to detect the presence of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in foods using a GMO detection kit and PCR process. The hypothesis is that testing of tomatoes will show a positive presence of GMOs. The objectives are to detect GMOs in daily foods and increase community awareness of findings. The expected result is a positive finding of GMOs in the food tested, followed by further tests to identify the specific organism incorporated.

Introduction
 Genetic engineer or bio-engineer refers to a
set of laboratory technologies that are being
used to change the genetic material of cells
and move genes across species boundaries
to produce novel organisms.
 What is a genetic modification?
 GM is a special set of technologies that
alter the genetic makeup of organisms such
as animals, plants, or bacteria.
