TRUE OR FALSE? 1. AIDS (auto immune deficiency syndrome) and HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) are transmitted only through penile/vaginal sexual contact.
FALSE! It can be transmitted through oral sex, anal sex, and shared needles. It also can be transmitted by tainted blood transfusion and getting tattooed with unclean equipment.
Scientific Name: The scientific name is Acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
Common Name: AIDS is simply known as AIDS.  However, there is a fine line difference between HIV and AIDS. HIV is the virus that may cause AIDS.
PHYSCIAL CHARACTERISTICS       People infected with HIV or who have AIDS can look healthy or normal; if he/she has had significant problems from the HIV-infection, he/she may also look sickly. SO THAT HOT CHICK NEXT TO YOU COULD HAVE AIDS.
Nutrition They eat T cells.
Habitat      AIDS doesn’t specifically stay somewhere on the body, but it does attack the victim’s immune system.  Which means, the victim is more vulnerable to getting more viruses and infections easily.
Size Small, hard to identify.  The shape is also circular.
Symptoms of Aids
How to get AIDS Transmission can be by  1) Sexof any kind that involves exposure to blood (including body fluids that may contain blood). 2) Sharing needles for injection of drugs into the blood. 3) By being bornand inheriting the symptom 4) By accidental exposure to infected blood.
Ways to prevent getting or spreading Aids. Wear a condom before sex!! Get checked by a doctor. Avoid coming into contact with other people’s blood.        REMEMBER, THERE IS NO KNOWN CURE FOR AIDS.
Who discovered Aids? Robert Gallo discovered AIDS in 1984.  He also found many other viruses like Human herpes virus 6.
