2. I believe that this image is strong however would not totally appeal to my selected audience. To me it looks more like a fashion shot and would therefore limit the amount of male readers which would buy it. The use of a medium shot and it’s connotations of fashion automatically take the magazine into the fashion part of the magazine industry and therefore does not meet the criteria I set out to fill. The font is unique and different appealing to the audience who have an eye for minimalism however when the magazine is placed on the news stand it would be lost among others and be totally overshadowed.
3. As per slide two the image used has negative connotations and due to this I have decided not to use it. On the other hand however the font is very appealing it has a retro approach yet has a modern feel to things. It is bold and would stand out amongst others within the news stand. The image itself is to bright and therefore I would have to adjust the contrast and brightness etc… The font itself I feel is the correct masthead and portrays and has the correct connotations that I want the magazine to have.
4. This is an alternate font to the previous slide but simply is bolder and has less gap amongst the letters. This has the same connotations and portrayal as the previous font however stands out even more and represents the magazine in a more highlighted manner. This photo or cover shot is a lot better and represents the audience segmentation in a more positive light. It provides more relation to the young fashionable professional who is rebelling against the mainstream. This also has connotations of anarchy. By the eyes being shut it also provides anonymity and allows the audience to put themselves in the artists shoes.
