1. Memo To:Mrs. Deese From:Taylor Neal Date: January 6, 2010 Message: This year in Technology Skills class, our many projects have been and continue to be applied to one big course-long electronic portfolio project. This project includes keeping a web log (henceforth “blog”) of every assignment we do throughout the year in this class via a blog-hosting service by Google called Blogger. The projects for the portfolio vary greatly. At the beginning of the year we started with a simple word document about our families and PowerPoints about our friends—stuff most of us already knew how to do. We soon moved to unfamiliar grounds, preparing more difficult projects such as brochures, PhotoStory videos, and spreadsheets. Most recently, we completed podcasts about our goals and futures. This was definitely the most difficult. The projects were fun for the most part; my favorite was the podcast, because I had never used a microphone before and being able to play with my own voice was oddly hilarious to me. I plan to keep my username and password to the blog memorized so I will be able to revisit my work from 10th grade for years to come. I will most likely show my family and maybe even the kids I will probably have one day if Blogger still works then. Having a digital portfolio of my work is very convenient.
