Conflicts In India
Submitted By: Mukul &
Gurlal Singh
 INDIA has the Largest Democracy in the World.
 It is the seventh largest country by area in the world. India has 28
states and seven territories, and each has at least one official
language.
 India is a nation of 400 Regional languages The national languages is
Hindi.
 It is the second most populous country with over 1.2 billion people.
India is a classic example of unity in diversity.
 The Indian economy is the world's tenth-largest by nominal
GDP and 3rd largest by purchasing power parity.(PPP). India
Became one of the fastest growing major economy. It is also
known as modern industrialized country. By having all this
India is facing many conflicts and problems with neighbor
countries. Conflict refers to some form of , disagreement,
or dissonance arising within a group or a country. Conflict
occur when one or more parties or groups are not happy with
each other decisions and policies. When there is some
dispute for some major reason in between two nations a
conflict is occur . So there are some solutions for solving the
conflict situation . There is a need of implementing some
conflict managing strategies. By following them conflicts can
be solve.
India-Pakistan conflict for Kashmir
region and its resources.
India-China conflict on Brahmaputra
river.
Ethnic and Religious Conflicts in
India
Wars Between India and Pakistan..
1. Indo-Pak war 1947
2. Indo-Pak war 1965
3. Indo-Pak war 1971
4. Indo-Pak war 1999
 The Kashmir conflict is the major dispute between India
and Pakistan. Both Countries want to over control the
region Kashmir.
 India and Pakistan both nations lays claim to Kashmir due
to nationalism. In both nations controversial politics creates
the huge conflict situation now these days.
 Conflicting strategies are the solution for the Kashmir
region but both nations have some issues which are not
going to solve and yet the decisions are not taken by the
both country governments. India- Pakistan both are not
compromising hence there is no negotiation seen.
 India and Pakistan are both fighting for rivers water
resources . India stop flow of river water to the West side
of Punjab and want to damage Pakistan economically as
Pakistan is creating terrorism in India. But due to world
bank involvement both nations negotiate at some point which
results in Indus Waters Treaty. The treaty is the solution
of war between two country but after some years Pakistan
again raise the issue and again the water dispute is started
between Indian and Pakistan . Pakistan was in fear that if
again war is started, Pakistan can face the lose in the war
because of the water resources.
1962 War held between India and China for taking
control over Brahmaputra river.
 India and China are the fastest growing superpowers but
they have some conflict issues with each other . One of the
major issue is the Brahmaputra River which has caused
tension between India and China.
 Many intelligent people say that if this conflict could not be
solved it will results in war. India wants to negotiate with
china but china is not enclosing its policies and strategies
which is the biggest problem of conflict. India has faced
floods many times because of this conflict as china is not
want to solve this issue.
 India is known for its unity in diversity. In India
there is many types of diversity which ranges its
natural resources, its culture ,religion,
dresses, their castes, and languages. The diversity
is the main strength for India but it also creates
some conflicts among poor and rich people . Some
people are facing many problems because of race and
ethnicity in some areas which are not developed yet.
So this is the conflict issue which raises the crime in
the country.
 India is a nation of many more ethnic and religions. It is
the only country in the world of having people of different
religions living together . But on the other side there is
some religions conflict also occurring which are face by the
country these days.
 There are many ethnic conflicts take place between two
religious people groups. One is Hindu and other is Muslim.
These two groups are fighting all the time and having some
issues and misunderstandings. Punjab and Assam are the
states which have already face this situation in the past.
Both states have faces many lose during the crisis.
 Indian-Pakistan is following the compromise negotiation
strategy.
 As both nations have compromise on Kashmir region and its
resources.
 There is a Indus water treaty in Indo-Pak.
 There is a line of Control(Loc) boundary.
 Both country have shown compromise on people bus and
train service from Delhi to Lahore.
 India-Pakistan have shown positive behaviour.
 There is a cultural emotions between both nations because
both nations were same before 1947.
 India-China both are following negotiation competition
strategy.
 Both nations are rapidly growing as superpowers.
 Indo-China is the best example of competition and there is
a race between both nations to reach on the top.
 India-china show aggressive behaviour to each other.
 Both have dispute on Brahmaputra river for water resources
and land issue.
 Indo-China both have shown a great business interest. Last
year India-China have done $100 billion USD dollars
business between each other.
 India-Pakistan had fought 4 wars and now they are doing
negotiation for better development of both nations.
Governments of both nations have doing discussions and
meetings on their political as well as moral issues. They are
starting new proposals deals by starting new transport
services lines which connect both country closer.
 India-China are trying hardly to prepare themselves for
meeting on their river and land issue. They are also
bargaining in water and land resources for the better
development of both countries.
 INDIA-CHINA
 At some extent India-china both are doing agreement for
negotiating for their issues.
 Now china wants to grow its business in India.
 India-china know that there is only one key to success by
having both countries business and sharing of resources.
 INDIA-PAKISTAN
 India-Pakistan both have no BATNA because India wants
that Pakistan can stand against terrorism, but Pakistan
refuses India’s agreement.
 At last I want to recommend that India-Pak and India-
China have the superpowers of Asia. If they all think of
negotiation and work on settlement on their issues. They
can easily develop their countries and become the world’s
most develop countries.
