Recommendations The lack of funding, limited participation from NOAA staff, an inadequate maintenance policy, and decreasing visitor levels necessitate the recommendation to shut down NOAA’s presence in Second Life. For NOAA’s presence to stay open, it should support a maintenance plan to provide content refresh and repairs as needed. For NOAA’s presence to stay open, it should adopt an overall content management strategy and multi-grid extending beyond Second Life. For NOAA’s presence to stay open, it should engage Linden Lab in traffic promotion strategies.
