2. Sochi is the largest year-old (!) Resort in Russia. Located in Krasnodar Krai near the
border with Georgia (Abkhazia). From the north-west of the city is surrounded by
mountains Caucasus. The metropolitan area extends to the shores of the Black Sea,
along the road leading from Dżubga to Sukhumi, the length of 147 km, making it the
second longest city in the world!

This amount is 5 times bigger than originally planned. Compared to the last

24. First Olympic Stadium, Sochi 2014
Stadium name comes from one of the most famous in Russia's
Caucasus Mountains Fiszt. Here you will be opening and closing
ceremonies of the Games.

26. Grand Palace of Ice, Sochi 2014
The name reflects the size and importance of the building. It will accommodate 12,000
spectators.
It will be held here ice hockey matches. The dome covering the rink looks like a giant
frozen water drop. The area of the dome is shiny and silver for the day, while at night it is a
huge screen ledowym, which may display any images.

"Oddball" in Russian means hockey puck. So the name immediately reveals the function of
the object and the Russian character of the Games in Sochi. From the outside the ice arena
