5. Cm- Glucan
Fluidifying And Mucus-adhesive action: it is a polysaccharide derived from

White Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) essential oil
White Thyme essential oil, which is obtained from its leaves, is often used as a
natural cough remedy. It contains the crystalline phenol «thymol», a powerful and
proven antibiotic and disinfectant that enhances the immune system and fights
inflammation. This makes them effective both inside and outside the body,
protecting the mucus membranes, gut and respiratory system from potential
infections.
Anethole has potent antimicrobial properties against bacteria, yeast and fungi. It
has a calming and anaesthetic effect, and provides relief to sore and irritated throats.

10. Blackcurrant Oil
The blackcurrant, Ribes nigrum, is a native plant of the mountain regions of
Eurasia. It nourishes the skin and is an effective antioxidant, with

which inhibit prostaglandins biosynthesis and stimulate the production
of cortisol (endogenous cortisone), that helps our body respond to
inflammations.

Bisabolol
Alpha-bisabolol is an unsaturated sesquiterpene alchool and it is the
main component of chamomile extract, with anti-inflammatory and
antinociceptive effects, which reduce acute pain perception. Indeed,
the studies point out that this sesquiterpene has the capacity of
reducing the excitability of peripheral nerves. It has recognized soothing
and calming qualities and also develops a skin protective action.

Plant originally from Africa, beside its anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive action,
this oil has renowned analgesic, sedative, and antiseptic properties. Furthermore,
it is an excellent cicatrizer, successfully used to heal wounds and burns. It is very
appreciated for its emollient qualities and its sebum regulating action.
Organic Juniper essential Oil
Obtained by pressing berries has anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive
properties. It provides a balsamic, relaxing and deeply cleansing action.
Juniper oil also has a stimulating and tonic effect on the circulation.

Organic Clove essential Oil
It Cloves oil is extracted from the dried flower buds of Eugenia caryophyllata plant, that
is one of the best natural antiseptic. Thanks to its anaesthetic, antihistamine and anti-
rheumatic properties, it is used topically to alleviate pain and help healing process. It
contains eugenol, a natural cleansing, and acts as a soothing and antioxidant.

Tropical plant with strong disinfectant, antiseptic and anti-neuralgic

Propolis, a natural substance with remarkable cleansing and anti-
inflammatory properties, is produced by bees, which collect resin from

and antiseptic material for the beehive. Propolis is rich in minerals,

Sweet Almond Oil
Extracted by cold pressing almond kernels, it is crystal clear and odourless with eudermic
properties, namely, it improves the condition of the skin, is absorbed very easily and is rich in
vitamin E, B and minerals. Used since ancient times for its extraordinary emollient qualities,
it softens earwax, facilitates its removal and makes the skin softer and more resistant.
Thanks to its extreme tolerability, it is also used for very delicate and sensitive skin.
Organic Borage Oil
Extracted from Borage seeds cold pressing, it is an oil rich in essential
polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). Borage Oil is an excellent source of fatty acids
omega-6, in particular gamma-linolenic acid. In addition, it contains linololenic,
oleic, palmitic stearic, and aplha-linolenic (omega-3). Effective emollient and
decongestant, it promotes the cellular regeneration and improves skin hydration
and elasticity , while deeply nourishing the skin.

The composition of the sea water from Brittany is very similar to our

Glyceric Blackcurrant extract
Anti-inflammatory¹ activity: Blackcurrant is rich in fatty acids omega 3, which
inhibit prostaglandins biosynthesis and stimulate the production of cortisol
(endogenous cortisone), that helps our body respond to inflammations.
Moreover, its cortison-like activity temporarily inhibit immune system reaction
against allergies. For this reason and for its strong anti-inflammatory qualities,
Blackcurrant is recommended in the case of allergic or chronic rhinitis,
asthma and upper respiratory tract diseases.

20. Mountain Pine essential oil
Expectoring activity: inhaling Mountain pine essential oil liquifies phlegm and helps
to remove it. Indeed, it is recommended for treating cold, sinusitis, bronchitis,
coughs, asthma and flu symtoms.

Anti-infective activity¹: the action of Melaleuca essential oil is especially effective against
bacteria, viruses and fungi. Its action is mostly bactericidal, that is to say able to destroy different
typologies of germs (gram+, gram -, aerobic and a large number of anaerobic germs). It contributes
to reducing proliferation of inflammatory cells.
Purifying action²: lemon activates and strenghtens the body's defences by stimulating
the production of red and white blood cells. This particularly property is useful for
treating infectious diseases, especially those caused by viruses (e.g. Flu and cold).

Protective activity²: the polysaccharides contained in it form a layer in the mucous
membrane, that protects against irritant agents and microorganisms.
Soothing action²: thanks to its ability to stimulate collagen turnover, Aloe is renowned
for its regenerative activity and its efficacy in fastening the healing process of wounds,
scars and skin inflammations.

SACHETS CONTAIN:
- Sodium Chloride (NaCl): NON-iodised table salt. One sachet dissolved in
Otosan Nasal Wash bottle provides a isotonic solution (same osmolarity as
our nose). This is useful for daily nasal cleansing and to improve mucociliary
clearance.
- Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3): when added to saline solution, it increases
its pH, promoting mucociliary movement. The normal nasal pH range is 5.5
– 6.5, while during rhinitis these values increase until 7.2-8.3.
- Hyaluronic acid: exerts a soothing, healing action on damaged tissues and
forms a protective and anti-bacterial barrier.

24. WHEN TO USE OTOSAN NASAL WASH: A WIDE RANGE OF POSSIBILITIES
• DAILY NASAL CLEANSING: in order to improve breathing, remove allergens and air
pollutants causing irritation, favour mucociliary transport, prevent breathing diseases,
sleeping better.
• ALLERGIC RHINITIS: removal of allergens and substances produced by allergic reactions
(histamine and leukotrienes); nasal decongestion. Irrigation effect lasts some hours, it
boosts antihistamines effectiveness and improves cortisonic spray diffusion on the nasal
mucosa.
• CHRONIC RHINITIS AND SINUSITIS: mucus, pus, bacteria and viruses removal; nasal

 After surgery: in order to keep the good function of the nasal mucosa; to decongest and

• HYPERTROPHIC RHINITIS DURING PREGNANCY (about 60% of women): due to high hormone
levels that cause congestion and nasal mucosa swelling.
