2. My main interest in life right now is finding new bands and music before they go mainstream.
3. I like to find new artists and bands before they go mainstream because I feel a deeper connection with them. By knowing them before the radio does, I feel like I was one of the few to help them reach stardom. Why I like it:
4. Where I Find Music: One website that I spend a lot of time on looking for new artists is PureVolume. PureVolume is a place for new and old bands to post their music in order to gain a wider fan base. One of the best bands I have found on pure volume was The Scene Aesthetic in 2004. I still listen to their music today.
5. Another place I spend a lot of time looking for music is Pandora. Pandora is a radio station online that allows you to type in a song or artist then pulls music that is comparable to that artist. I typically use Pandora to find relaxing music.
6. The Best Part of Unknown Bands: The biggest perk about finding a band before it has gone mainstream are the abundant amount of small shows they do. Concerts of well known band’s tickets are anywhere from 30-X dollars- while a concert of an unknown band is typically anywhere from 7-20 pending on the venue. So, by knowing smaller bands- I end up saving money on tickets which allows me to buy merchandise that actually helps out band profits.
