2. We used logic pro to record the voice overs in our
piece. This is because it allowed us to get a better
quality sound.
I have some experience with music recording so this
gave us a huge advantage.
Firstly you have to open logic and create a new file.
Then create a new ‘audio’ track. This allows us to
input audio onto Logic.
After this as you can see in the photo you have to
select your inputs and ensure you have selected the
correct interface. We use Edirol UA-25EX.
3. Here you can see how we can
select our interface. By doing so it
records all sound coming through
this input.
We then wired up a condensed
vocal mic which is very sensitive
but picks up good sound quality.
4. Here you can see the set up we used to record the vocals. To begin with, you can see
how we set up a microphone stand and attached a vocal booth on top to ensure we got
the best sound quality. And this reduces all background noise.
On top of this, we used a pop shield to stop the letters such as B and P creating a plosive
noise and distorting the sound.
As well as this, we attached a cradle of which we placed the mic in which helped balance
it still for the recording. You attach an XLR cable into the end of the mic and into the
Edirol Interface.
5. You then record enable the audio track and hit record, after this it
records the vocal through the interface.
After recorded, you bounce the file and then import it into the
premiere file.
