Media evaluation task 4
1. Evaluation Task 4
How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
2. Equipment
This is the equipment that
we used whilst we were
shooting out video, it was
all very good quality and
helped us a lot during the
shooting of our music
video. There are two
computer screens, the
ones we used at school is
the photo on the left and
the one I used from home
is the one of the right.
The camera we used was in HD (High definition), we used this because we wanted to get
the best affect possible for our movie and make it look as sharp as it could possibly be.
We used the tri-pod so that we had a stable base for the camera, and it wasn’t wobbling
all over the place. The Mac is where we did most of the editing to our film as it had
iMovie on it and it was the best software to use for editing, also one member in our
group had Photoshop so we were able to use that to make our digipack and front covers.
3. Blogger.com
I used a blog to showcase my work to the audience, it is a very good and fun way to
show my work to my audience. Firstly I set up an account, this didn’t take long as it’s
a very simple and basic set up. After a while I got used to how it worked and was
able to change the design and layout to make it more eye catching. It was good
because I could easily post up my work for my teacher to look at and give me
feedback. It is also easy to upload videos and pictures to my blog about the design
like out digipack, front cover, back cover and track listings.
4. Slideshare.com
I used Slideshare to upload my evaluation tasks up to the blog. This also is a very
easy and quick site to use. All I had to do is upload my Publisher document onto
Slideshare and then link it to Blogger. Doing this I could easily show my
slideshows to my audience and my teacher can give me good feedback without
loosing papers.
5. Youtube.com
I used YouTube to upload my videos on throughout the time of making the video
and the evaluation. Most professional record labels will publish the video on
YouTube and will get millions of likes, e.g. ‘Baby – Justin Bieber’ has got over 500
million views. It was easy to upload our videos onto YouTube, although takes
around 15-20 minutes to upload and then it can easily be seen all around the
world. YouTube is also good for feedback because I can get comments from people
who have seen our video telling us there thoughts on what they liked and what
they didn’t like.
6. iMovie
For our publishing and editing we used iMovie, this was a very easy and simple
program to use as it allowed us to edit our video however we wanted. I could easily
important my video on to iTunes for people to see. The effects and graphics that are
used in this program extremely good, and give you many dimensions to experiment
with before you have your final product. I could easily transport my videos to show
other people in my group, which was good as we got feedback and then could
change the video to the feedback that we thought would be beneficial in our video.
7. Facebook
I used facebook to promote my video and to show my friends, I also used it to get
feedback and get thoughts on what they thought about my video. It was really beneficial
and helped us out. Facebook was also very good for arranging when we were going to
do filming and editing, this means that we were organized in our shoots, and managed
to get what we planned to do done.
