7. Abstract:
A road is a thoroughfare route, or way on the land between two places
which has been paved or otherwise improved to allow travel by some
conveyance, including a horse, cart, or motorcycle vehicle. Designing of
our road is based upon the AASHTO specifications under the following
standards, Geometric design: AASHTO 2001 and Pavement design:
AASHTO 1986-Road note 31-1993.
By carrying out survey & levelling collected the road data which is
further required to draw the long-sections & cross-sections. By gathering
the soil samples from the road site we then performed specified tests. All
the above information will be used to design the road.
8. Objectives
The prime objective of this project is to connect the rural area (Shah
wali) with Nawakilli and Saraghurgai.
The aim of this project work is to fulfil the demand of the road for the
sake of increasing population, for which we will have to plan and design
the road. In this project we will work on the Softwares related to
Transportation engineering e.g. GPS for finding the coordinates of the
proposed road. AutoCAD for drawing L-sections & Cross sections.

10.3. Collection of data through preliminary & secondary survey &
levelling
10.4. Tests for checking the characteristics of the soil (moisture
content Test, liquid limit test, plastic limit test, CBR test, proctor
test.)
10.5. Analysis of the data obtained by survey & tests.
10.6. Implementation of the data.
10.7. Use of Softwares (GPS for finding coordinates, & AutoCAD for
Drawing the L & cross sections).
10.8. Designing of culverts, curve, cause way.
10.9. Estimation and costing.
10.10. Road finishing (Alignments).
11. Potential Benefits
11.1. The Potential benefit of the project is to develop the Linking road
between the villages nearby.
11.2. Economic way of approach for the local people.
