Meza drove this change by getting educated herself, leading by example, and inspiring others through small wins and storytelling. She emphasized starting with why, focusing on outcomes over tactics, empowering experts, and being willing to fail forward to fully embrace the new approach.

Me Pregnant:Two years ago I went on maternity leave. I read about content marketing and it REALLY resonated with me. I read more. I got excited. The philosophy behind CM goes to my core. Its simple and common sense and it has the power to change the problems we face as creators and consumers of content. IMHO, It is the most transformative catalyst to date for marketing.
New leader for Services, new Leader for Marketing, new boss, oh my! If I cant be with my son, then what I’m doing better be meaningful and rewarding. Done with giving up before starting, no more victims, pick up our powerballs!
As a new parent, work now had a higher bar to reach. If I couldn’t be with my son, then what I was doing at work needed to be rewarding in a whole new way. It needed to be meaningful. I needed to feel successful AND I wanted to enjoy myself and have fun!\\
Timing is everything. Organization and its leadership must be ready to embrace the change. All functions within marketing need to be created equal. They need to have a voice BEFORE the work gets done. Separate the function from the hierarchy to help bust silos and reduce corp politics from being an obstacle to change.
Everything in life comes down to this. You have a CHOICE. If you have the power to control or change something---just do it! If you cant do it yourself, then work to influence those who DO have the power. If you cant control it yourself and you cant influence, FORGET it! Move on! Let it go. Don’t be a victim. Take accountability for what you are responsible for and make things happen. Reach your goals!
This is not WHAT we did, but how we did it and what you should consider doing along your journey through this change.
