3. You need to have a good general knowledge of how the school council works.

5. You need to be able to encourage everyone to give a point of view.
6. You need to be able to sum up the points that have been made and you need to be able to ensure that there has been a fair representation of everyone’s opinions.

8. Send out the agenda and papers so At Hendon: everyone can read them in advance (speak to the Secretary)

10. Arrange the seating to encourage maximum participation, usually around a table.
11. Try to provide refreshments, this won’t make the meeting more productive but people will be happy.
12. Make sure the meeting starts on time, remember lunch is relatively short.
