1. Highlander District – There can be only one!
Coronavirus Phase 3 Activities
Effective 5:00 PM 11 December, the state of North Carolina
and Occoneechee Council will stay in Phase 3 until 31 Jan
• There are changes to meeting limitations
• Indoor meetings limited to ten (10) individuals
• Outdoor meetings limited to fifty (50) individuals (unchanged)
• Individuals ages five years and older must be masked
• Observe social distancing and sanitation requirements
• Individuals not feeling well should not attend meetings
Follow the guidance directed by your local authorities
and Charter Organization!

Fundamentals of Training / EDGE
The course introduces teaching
techniques and skills to new Scout
trainers but is also designed to
help all Scouters, regardless of
their experience, present effective
training. Intended for both youth
and adult trainers, the course will
help those who might have trained
for other organizations learn the
BSA’s training techniques, and it
will help freshen up the skills of
current BSA trainers.
This course will be offered in two parts:
• Fundamentals of Training
– Date: Wednesday, March 3rd 2021
– Time: 7pm
– Location: Zoom
• Trainer’s EDGE
– Date: Saturday, March 6th
– Time: 9am-5pm
– Location: 2847 Bridgewood Dr,

• The training awards and keys are designed to
recognize unit Scouters for tenure, training, and
performance in their leadership roles.
• We are now able to process most training awards
at the district level:

Incident Reporting
Timely, clear, concise, and
complete incident reports allow
for an appropriate response
and an opportunity for analysis
while promoting continuous
improvement of our programs.
You should report incidents,
near misses, and youth
protection / membership
infraction incidents to your local
council or enter them yourself.

Catholic Camporee
The 2021 Catholic Camporee has tentatively been scheduled. The Catholic
Committee on Scouting will continue to monitor the current situation with
Covid-19, taking into account state health mandates as well as directives
from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). As we get closer to our
proposed Camporee date, we will publish additional advise on this website.
• WHAT: 2021 Catholic Camporee for the Diocese of Raleigh
• WHEN: March 12-14, 2021
• WHERE: Camp Bowers in White Oak, NC
• WHO: All Boy Scout & Girl Scout Troops, Cub Packs, Brownie Troops,
American Heritage Girl units, and other youth organizations
• THEME: “Rise Up”

The Saint George Trek is Back!
• OVERVIEW: The Saint George Trek is The National Catholic
Committee on Scouting’s® high adventure Catholic leadership
program for older Catholic Scouts and Venture Crew members
at Philmont Scout Ranch. The program brings Catholic high
school youth from around the country together with selected
priests, religious and seminarians for eleven days of
backpacking in the context of a vocation retreat.
• TIMEFRAME: The 2021 Saint George Trek begins on
Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico
• ST. GEORGE TREK FEES: The cost of the St. George Trek is
$925.00 per participant.

• Please if at all possible, pay online (ACH)
• Include a signed 2020 JTE form
• Call me and we will set up a meeting to
review/collect your paperwork
