14. Roadmap to implement “Open Government Data Strategy”
① Creating use rules that allow for unrestricted secondary use of public data
Public data which government possesses its property right is in primarily available for secondary
use.
② Expanding public release o information in data formats that are suitable for machine reading.
Public disclosure of government information (open data) will be in principal be done in data
formats and structures that are allow for machine readable.
Preferentially- releasing data on priority field such as white papers, disaster prevention and
response information, geospatial information, information on movement of people, information
on budget/accounting/procurement, statistical data
③ Launching cross-governmental data catalog sites.
Launching data catalog sites that provide guidance to and allow for cross- sectional searching for
government data released by each ministry and agency.
④ Expanding public release of information
Expanding public release of data that ① can be used by business ② is low in cost for public
disclosure ③ is highly demanded in the private sector.
⑤ Encouraging the use of government data
Identifying and encouraging use needs, use methods will be developed , and active measures
will be taken to support the development of highly-skilled human resources that can use data
effectively.
Considering to investigate measures and policies taken by ministries .

16. Action Plan for Open Government Infrastructure(abstract)
Government infrastructure renovation
We will make an agile open government infrastructure by 2020.
1. Interoperability framework for open government
(1)Standard character-set
There are many character-sets in Japan. We established a standard character-set infrastructure for our
names, company names and address. All government sector should use it in new information systems
(2)Standard vocabulary-set and APIs
Government will establish a reference vocabulary model and APIs for information exchange.
(3)Standard code-set
Government will align code sets that government publishes.
2. Standard based citizen-centric service
(1)Standard for procurement & support program information
Government will establish standard formats and APIs for the information.
(2)Citizen-centric web site guide
Government will establish standard web structure and design guide.
3. Governance
(1)Government domain consolidation
(2)Promotion

“When will which garbage be collected?”
Garbage collection is becoming a serious problem. Code for Kanazawa is firstly focused on the correct way to
dispose of garbage. With this app, if you move to a new area of Kanazawa, you can find information about
different trash disposal times for your neighborhood.
Using 5374
Each type of trash is displayed in a different color.
For trash that can be thrown away, tap the trash category to see the specific items that can be discarded.
Set your location to automatically set your collection dates for each category of disposable trash. In the
future, we are planning to use Smart Phone’s GPS to find your home’s position.
22. Book search service “Calil”
Users can search through the books across 5,200 libraries in Japan.
Using this service, users can know the status of the books if they are
available or not. Additional information about the book posted on
“Amazon.com” and link to the online bookstore are also displayed in
the same page.
In case the books are not available in any libraries, users can go to
