 History of cloning
 What’s the cloning ?
 Types of cloning
 The Cloning In Religion
 Cloning laws in some countries
 Summary
 in the late1800's:The first cloned animals
were created by Hans Dreisch
 in 1986: First Cloned Mammals
 Dolly: lamb cloned from sheep embryos by
Dr.Ian Wilmut
He began the paperwork in 1987, and began
research in 1990
and on July 5, 1996, a lamb was born.
 Cloning is production copies of identical cells
or organisms from one cell.
 The produced organisms have the same
genetically traits.
 Cloning occurs naturally by Bacteria ,Viruses,
Some insects and plants which asexual
reproduction
1- DNA Cloning: “Recombinant DNA, Molecular
cloning or Gene cloning” only the DNA of a
cell is replicated.
2- Reproductive cloning: is a technology used
to generate an animal that has the same
nuclear DNA as another currently animal
Dolly, was cloned by “Reproductive cloning”
3- therapeutic cloning: like reproductive
cloning, except that the embryos are not
allowed to develop fully.
 the purpose of therapeutic cloning to extract
stem cell from embryo and study them.
 In Islamic religion
 Islam not prevent the scientific research, but
this researches must be followed Islamic
provisions.
 Islamic religion forbidden the human cloning
The reason: Because Islam rejects any way to
give birth in man, but by "a couple"
 But, Islamic religion allow the cloning in
plants and animals but with the scientific
ethics.
 The reason: Because Allah created these
creatures and he has put human service, but
within the limits of Islamic provision.
 In Christian religion
 the view of Christian religion not different
with view of Islamic religion on cloning.
 Christian religion forbidden the human
cloning.
 The reason: the Christian religion view of
human birth must be from “a couple” to
family configuration.
 Egypt: Human cloning in Egypt is rejected
Because Egypt depends on his laws on
religion in Egypt, "Islam and Christianity"
In both religions, "Cloning Denied"
 United states: Cloning laws in the United
States are not clear because the laws prevent
human cloning which put in both
“2005,2007" is not accepted yet.
 Australia: Australia like as UK in the human
cloning, prohibited it.
but allow it in therapeutic such as “stem cell
Study”
 United kingdom: UK politicians have given the
go-ahead to allow cloning of human embryos
for therapeutic (to develop stem cells to
regenerate tissues) but not for reproductive
purposes.
 Canada: Canadian law prohibits the following:
cloning humans, cloning stem cells, growing
human embryos for research purposes, sex
selection, and buying or selling of embryos,
sperm, eggs or other human reproductive
material.
