Event Report – Dreamforce: Top Overall Takeaways
MyPOV: Key moves by Salesforce into Commerce, early in AI, good
overall CRM push, but platform advancements stand out and
lay an important foundation for the future.
Dreamforce was the usual event of lots of marketing and some
product, supposedly attended by 160k+ (I didn’t see them though).
• Salesforce joins AI frenzy witn Einstein, wins the hype price
• CommerceCloud – Salesforce goes beyond CRM for people
• Quip – Another (promising) stab at making users more productive
• Salesforce unshackles itself from old SaaS architecture

Event Report – Dreamforce: Top Platform Takeaways
MyPOV: Good to see Salesforce talk about AI, no surprisingly 1st apps
are basic – scoring & recommendations. Enabling the
developers is right move, but a long, long road to more AI.
Developer zone was on 1st floor of Moscone West, nice tiering of
different zones, all in the Trailhead style of now all DF.
• Salesforce creates an Events Object on the force.com side
• Force.com runs on AWS Cloud now
• PredictionIO comes to Heroku – developers build AI apps
• Kafka now runs on Heroku, but what’s the Salesforce Data Lake?
