OpenStack is an open-source cloud operating system that allows datacenters to be treated as pools of compute, storage, and networking resources. It provides APIs for developers to build cloud-aware applications and self-service portals for users and administrators. The OpenStack community includes over 1,200 active participants from 17 countries and over 40,000 downloads worldwide. Rackspace Cloud Builders provides support for enterprises and service providers to build and manage OpenStack clouds.
