When the full service printer, Editions & Impressions du Pacifique (EIP), received a job requiring finely detailed and intricate die cutting they were surprised when their steal rule die supplier said a die could not be made. A steal rule die could not be made with the intricate detail required for the project. EIP turned to H.S. Boyd and the Inline Offset Cutting (IOC) system for a solution. Within days a flexible die was created that was mounted onto the blanket cylinder of their Heidelberg MO press. This allowed them to perform all finishing functions in-house and deliver the project exactly the way the customer wished.
