2. Biography
• Born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Los Angeles, California, to a heroin
addict father, and an absent mother.
• When he was 17 years old, he joined one of East LA’s oldest and most
violent gangs.
• Beginning his art career in 1995 as a member of the East Los Angeles
Streetscapers, Fabian was mentored by many Chicano artists and
muralists and was introduced to creative expression in all forms, from
graffiti tagging, to murals, to sketching and painting
• He battled depression, and drug addiction for years, until a suicide
attempt at age 30.
• It was only after what he describes as an ‘encounter with god’ during his
suicide attempt, that he entered rehab, and began seriously pursuing an
artistic career.
3. Art Style
Fabian’s pieces commonly portrays influences of his upbringing, as well
as representations of his personal experiences as a former gang
member. Subjects in his art commonly include children, gang members,
religious figures, still-life sceneries, skylines of Los Angeles, among
other subjects.

4. Art Work• Fabian Debora focuses predominantly on canvas paintings, as
well as murals, but dabbles slightly into sculpture, drawings, and
occasionally digital art.
• His principal medium of choice is acrylic painting on canvas, or
spray paint and acrylic paint on walls
• His paintings often use very dark color schemes, with a central
subject in the middle of the piece, with a scenery background.
