Then the students must use
a stamp of the gingerbread

so that the fox won’t eat
him.

This is a word cloud.
The theme of this word cloud is
things to do during the summer
A “~” must be between two
words that need to stay together
The more times you repeat a
word, the bigger Wordle will
make it

This type of a project takes
several class periods to complete
32. PPT, Pub and Excel
Boot camp
Students will be in
groups of 3. One will
make a chart in Excel,
one will make a
PowerPoint and one
will make a poster in
Publisher.
I provide all the
information so that the
students don’t waste
any time researching.
The students can focus
on putting that
information into the
Microsoft program.
37. Students are
going to use
Google and Bing
when they are at
home
Google and Research
• Teach students about using keywords
• Stress importance that not all websites are credible or true
• Students should click on several websites to help collect
information
• Tell students that websites will pay to be at the top of the results
list- just because it’s the first website doesn’t mean it’s the best or
that it meets your keyword search
• Watch out for advertisements!
• Maturity – the image search can get raunchy—fast!
• Google has many options for narrowing a search – check them out
• Boolean Search—Using AND, OR, NOT
