Dear Students, Teachers, and Parents,
Good day to all!
The First Grading Period is about to end, Our students are gearing up for the 1" Periodic Examination plus, for
the 4th Years, the UPCAT on August 6/7,2A1"L. As this Quarter draws to a close, please be informed/reminded of the
following:
1 Students are required to continue wearing the "dengue uniform." So far, there had been only one case
added to the two previous cases we had last June, 2011. (For your better appreciation, last 5Y 2}t9-24fi",
we had twenty-two (22) dengue cases.)
2, Students who have been absent due to illness must proceed directly to the Medical Clinic with their
excuse letter and/or medical certificate for medical clearance and issuance of the Admission Slip (AS).
After securing clearance and AS from the Medical Clinic, they should go to the Registrar's Office for
documentation and validation. These should be done before attending classes. Those absent due to
attendance in official activities off-campus can get the Admission Slip anytlme within the day of return
{please follow the flow chart indicated in the Student's Handbook.)
3. We follow suspension of classes when announced by the Department of Education {DepEd}. lf such
announcements are made when the students are already in school, we shall suspend classes following
the time/schedule given by DepEd. Parents are urged to fetch their children immediately after
confirmation from the PSHS.
4. For dormers, please be informed about the following W-FEKEND ACCOM.MOIATIQN DORM POLICY;
A' : We shall be enforcing the provision in the PSHS Main Campus Coltr?ct of Do{.rnitonv
Accomfnodation that dormers shall go home or stay with guardians on weekends {Satundays and
Sundays) and shall return punctually either on Sunday evening not later than 8:00 PM or Monday
morning by 6:00 AM; and that they will submit a written request from their parents to stay in the
dormitory on weekends in case they have-to work on school requirements, at least two days before
any weekend.
4.2 : While such provision exists, the Management Committee (Mancomi is cognizant that there are
dcrmers who cannot go home on weekends because they live in far provinces and they do not have
Metro Manila guardians. Since there is a need to be consistent with the terms of the Dorm Contract,
address the needs of certain dormers, and look into the welfare of our dorm personnel, only the
following dormers t:" t:ili:Tf,ffi::;diu,
p,.ou,nres and do not have Metro Manira suardians.
Parents of these dormers should submit a letter of request to the 55D Chief
on or before August 8,?:ALL.
Those who are pafiicipants in approved school activities, with endorsement
from teacher/staff sponsor/s.
2. 4.3 : Only two (2) dorms shall be open during weekends: one for the boys and one for the girls. iThis is
also part of the school's cost-cutting measures.) Dormers from the other dormitories shall be
temporarily accommodated for the weekend in the dorms that are open.
4.4 : Dormers who stay on weekends shall not be allowed to go out of the campus during weekends. This
is for security and safety reasons.
5. Schedule for August 5,20t1- {Friday; after the Lst Periodic Examination)
4'h Years - No classes; Preparation for the UPCAT
3'd Years - Field Trip
L" & 2nd Years - Launching of Outreach Program; 7:30-12:00 nn (half day only); students
shall be required to bring the necessary materials for the outreach. Other
details to be announced by Ms. Floriedes Anda (Chair, Outreach Committee)
and/or Homeroom Advisers. Students should go home at 12:00 nn after the
outreach activities.
6. There are three holidays for August: August 19 (Quezon City Day); August 29 (National Heroes Day); and
August 30 (Eidul Fitr).
7. Humanities DaVs celebration on August 31-, September 1, and September 2. Special activities for students
have been prepared by the Humanities teachers.
8. Card-Giving/Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) shall be September 3, 2O1.t (Saturday) from L:00 - 3:00 PM
ifollowing the morning Family Day). All parents are required to come for the Card-Giving/PTC.
9. Dorm Open House on September 4, 201"1- {Sunday).
10. PSHS Main Campus Foundation Day Celebration on September 5, 201-1 (Monday), highlight of which is
the Recognition-Convocation Program.
