Presentación realizada por Ricardo Ibarra en el marco del I Foro de Innovación Biomédica, organizado por el Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Aragón (IIS Aragón) el 6 de octubre de 2011.
2. NANOBIOMEDICINE
The Institute of Nanoscience of Aragon (INA) is a research centre within the University of Zaragoza. Since 2003 it
focuses on research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. INA develops a multidisciplinary research in different
fields (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine..) which makes possible to strengthen its scientific skills in the field
of Biotechnology.
Nanobiomedicine uses nanotechnology to improve the ability of medicine to study, diagnose and treat the most
common illnesses of the population. New possibilities rise in order to establish new approaches targeted to
customized therapies, drug delivery drugs with reduced toxicity and side effects in patient. New devices are
developed, such as specific sensors. Also, medical imaging techniques (MRI) are improved thanks to
Nanobiotechnology.
