12. Process:
•Healthy Canteen Manual: National Institute of Nutrition.:
•Healthy dieting habits.
•A list of 13 meals.
•Meals rich with vitamins & minerals needed for children in
the age group of 6-15 years old.
•Meal suite the Egyptian taste.
•Easily prepared in a school setting.
•Affordable prices (1.5 to 2 EGP - 11¢).
•Recipe for preparation, nutritional value/facts per serving
size, optimum packaging, and storage conditions.

13. Process:
•Train teachers and supervisors .
•Equip healthy canteen rooms with all needed equipment (10
schools).
•Follow up the safety procedures: fire extinguishers, med.
check-up for teachers, etc.
•Students participate in cooking with specific safe tasks in
cooking.
•Provide fun to schools to purchase raw materials.

14. Process:
•Close monitoring from the MoE nutrition team.
•Healthy Canteen financial system is under the umbrella of
MoE regulation (Productive School).
•Activate the school decrees of prohibiting selling junk food at
schools through supporting the work of the the MoE’s
School Health and Environment Committees at different
levels.
