6. SYNCHRONOUS LEARNING
Synchronous events take place in real time. Synchronous communication
between two people requires them to both be present at a given time but they
are separated from each other physically .
Examples are chat, video and audio conference, live webcasting, and virtual
classrooms.

7. ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING
Asynchronous events are time-independent. A self-paced course is an example
of Asynchronous Learning and the trainer and learner are free to decide when
to use the courseware .
Examples of asynchronous communication tools E-mail, CD, stored audio or
video web presentation or discussion forums .

An online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of
posted messages

The World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or the Web) is an information space

14. VIDEO CONFRENCING
Videoconferencing (VC) is the conduct of a videoconference by a set of
telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to
communicate by simultaneous two-way video and audio transmissions.
