2. BIG PROBLEM FOR SMALL BUSINESS...
The idea for the startup is to provide low cost, on-
demand professional IT support service, primarily to
small businesses with less that 25 employees - who do
not have an IT support professional on staff.
3. A LITTLE BACKGROUND...
This is not a new idea for me.
I have been self employed since 2004 as a one man IT
support service professional to local small businesses in
the greater Sacramento, CA valley area.
In years past (prior to the "great recession") I conducted
all business activity - including marketing in-person.
4. SOME INSIGHT...
I gained substantial insight as to how small businesses
use information technology in their businesses and how
they shop for IT support services.
Over the last few years I have began a move to providing
my IT support services remotely.
I am even moving to marketing my IT support services
via low cost social media and of course through my
website at: www.daveduggan.com.
5. THE UNTAPPED DEMAND...
My website now attracts approximately 1000 visitors per
month - all of whom are searching the internet for help
with specific, small business computing issues that I
have addressed on my website or blog.
One of my posts from a year ago is still an active thread,
getting over 250 page views per month.
Some visitors are being converted to paid, new client
status.
...all of this as a one man operation.
6. NEW GROUND...
Now, imagine if we were to assemble a motivated and
technically capable team of talented individuals with the
required skill sets.
This business concept can be scaled.
And this is a large market with excellent growth potential.
The opportunity can be pursued in a lean, low cost
manner.
7. NEW POTENTIAL...
So think about this:
How many small businesses do you think there are in the
US?
How many of those small businesses rely on information
technology to run their business?
How many of those small businesses need help with
their information technology?
How many of those small businesses search the internet
when they are looking for help with their information
technology?
