in our country which is exceedingly depends
on gas for production…

28. But unfortunately,Bangladesh is a low
energy consuming country with per capita
annual consumption of 220KW per hour.

produced by renewable energy.

42. Solar power
To produce 10% (2000MW) of
whole electricity by the year of
2020 the government established the
infrastructure Development
Company Limited(IDCOL) in 2003,
which has now become the largest
provider of Solar Home Systems
and biogas stoves in the country.
Every year 50-60 thousand families
are now getting solar home system .
As a result about 2 lakh ton
kerosene & 0.18 billion dollar can
be saved at the end of the year.
About 44lakh solar home system
has been provided,

sustainable development of Bangladesh ?
Because , Bangladesh government has set a goal to
make the country to a middle income country by the
year 2021…& achieving the goal of being a middle
income country by 2021 will be difficult unless the
continuous supply of energy at a reasonable price is
ensured.

49. o Energy security drives the
growth of a country .
o Every 1% growth of GDP is estimated to lead to a growth of
1.4% demand for electricity in a typical developing country.
o Energy security is essential to guarantee the food security in
the country by securing the production in agriculture.
o The industrial production is not possible without the
ceaseless supply of electricity or gas.
