IRRIGATION

Definition
-Is when people give water to
plants, to help them grow when
there is not enough rain.

-Irrigation water can be pumped
from rivers, natural lakes, or lakes
created by dams, from wells or by
canals.

Types of irrigation

 Large holes in the ground.
 By flooding, generally, using doors
     between two holes.
 By aspersion, this type is like if it were
     raining.
 By dripping, this type is the most
economic. It is with a large hose with
small holes in it, that drip water slowly

Garlic
 Spacement: 10x12cm/20x30cm
 Climate: Heat and Sun light
 Irrigation: Moderate, not too much water
      (dripping).
 Plant time: From October to December, and from
      January to Mars.

Lettuce
 Spacement: 20x30 cm
 Climate: Wet areas, not too heat, and solar light.
 Irrigation: Frecuently, but not too much quantity
      (dripping).
 Plant time: All year.

Carrot
 Spacement:58 cm
 Climate: Need solar light, and also shadow.
 Irrigation: Frecuently (dripping).
 Plant time: From January to forward.

Characteristics of the irrigation
 Always keep the ground damp: How more stable
will be the damp, better results obteined.

 Secuence of irrigation: We have to irrigate
constantly and with a good proportion  of water,
so we don't damage the plants.

More characteristics
 Types of ground: grounds have to be irrigated more
frecuently and with a less quantity of water,
contrary to the grounds made of clay.

 When we have to irrigate: we have to irrigate in the
morning or in the affternoon, and always in a
hour that there isn't so much sun.

END
