6.The big idea
3. I did this because I’d like to understand how
steam can convert it’s heat into power. And
like to test how it works . And observe how
this changed the world.
4. I think this steam turbine will not spin that
much .
5. 1.tin can
2.tin foil
3.100ml of water
4.wooden chopsticks
5.screw
6. 1.take out a piece of tin foil then cut out a circle then put a
small hole through the middle of the blade then cut lines that
go directly towards the hole.
2.Then ask a grown up to help put two holes on top of the tin
can one in the middle and one on the right then empty the tin
can then use a cup that show 100ml on it then fill it up to a
100ml then pour the water in to the can.
3.Then make a stand for the blade so use tin foil to make the
stand the height of it has to be 20cm and the length has to
be 4cm after cutting it out fold it in half then open it then
fold both sides to the middle line then put one hole on each
top side.
7. 4.After use the middle hole in the tin can to
put in a screw to hold the stand then poke a
wooden chopstick through the hole of the
blade then put it through the holes.
5.Then ask a grown up to help you put the
invention on a gas cooker then wait for a
while then it might start to spin.
8. Then I put the steam turbine on the gas cooker.
But it did not spin but it did move.
9. In the end of this experiment the steam turbine
did not spin but it did move.
10. This machine is used by converting it’s heat
energy into homes like ours today and for
other things like factory and lights on the
streets .This invention is useful to us because
this type of machine can make energy by
using heat not like any other machine
