Solution Description
LG Electronics (LG) is introducing its newest laundry solution “virtually” at IFA 2020 to an audience that is eager for a higher level of convenience when it comes
to housework. A washing machine and dryer combined in a single unit with LG’s latest technologies and smart features, LG WashTowerTM offers total clothing
care and ultimate user convenience. This innovative new home appliance will be available worldwide this year, with availability starting next month in North
America. Unlike competing stacked washers and dryers, LG’s WashTower is designed from the ground up as a “one body” solution. At the beginning of the wash
cycle, the integrated unit indicates how long it will take to complete both washing and drying. The washer also shares information with the dryer, which
automatically sets the optimal course and preheats the drum, contributing to better results and shorter overall laundry times. For the unique design of WashTower,
LG designers went to great lengths to ensure maximum ease-of-use. Unlike a stackable washer and dryer where each appliance has its own control panel, the
WashTower boasts the convenience of a single, intuitive interface. Located between the washer and dryer for easy access, the all-in-one Center Control makes it
simple to manage every aspect of LG’s complete laundry solution. With the height of LG WashTower approximately 87 millimeters lower than the average
combined height of stackable units, loading and unloading the top-mounted dryer is measurably easier. And WashTower doesn’t scrimp on capacity, with a
maximum load of 17 kilograms for the washer and 16 kilograms for the dryer. Incorporating LG’s most-advanced laundry and smart technologies, LG WashTower
provides customers with both outstanding performance and ease-of-use. Thanks to TurboWash™ 360° and Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive™ (AI DD™), the
washer feature guarantees fast, gentle and cleaner clothes, detecting the weight and softness of clothing to calculate the best setting for every load. Its advanced AI
reduces cycle times and energy usage without sacrificing effectiveness while the dryer utilizes LG’s steam technology to deliver maximum hygiene, eliminating
99.99 percent of common bacteria.

Microchip (USA) Announces High-Speed CoaXPress 2.0 Devices that Speed Machine
Vision Image Capture While Simplifying System Design and Deployment
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
31
Solution Description
Until the 12.5Gbps CoaXPress® 2.0 interface standard was ratified last year, machine-vision image-capture solutions had replaced conveyor belts as the primary
roadblock to achieving faster production-line throughput. Now, Microchip Technology Inc. has taken the next step toward realizing the full potential of CoaXPress (CXP)
on the factory floor with the first single-chip physical-layer interface devices to include features that streamline machine vision system design, maximize transmission
speed and simplify deployment in high-volume bottling operations, food inspection, industrial inspection and imaging applications. Microchip’s EQCO125X40 family
of CoaXPress devices is the first to implement the CXP 2.0 standard, starting from a new backward compatible design based on the specification, with an integrated clock
data recovery (CDR) at all speed levels and a camera-side clock to support the demands of real-world environments. The devices significantly increase machine-vision
processing throughput by enabling cameras and capture cards to transmit four to eight times faster than alternative solutions. In addition, these devices enable four times
the cable/link distance with much lower power and near-zero latency. The product family also increases design tolerances and flexibility by seamlessly locking on all
frequencies at any speed, from CXP-1 to CXP-12, and eliminates the need for multiple channels by supporting 12.5Gbps of bandwidth over a single cable. Broader
cabling options ensure systems can be installed where needed and the integrated CDR improves jitter performance for the signal sent from the camera to the capture card.
The on-camera low-frequency clock recovery eliminates the need to program a separate clock in the FPGA. The integrated link signal integrity testing enables the system
to perform real-time checks of cable link integrity before and during operations.

Microchip (USA) Introduces Its Highest-Density EEPROM with 4 Mbit Serial EEPROM
Debut
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
32
Solution Description
Portable consumer and medical devices including fitness trackers, hearing aids and glucose monitors as well as industrial, automotive and other systems often use
customer-specific data sets to optimize the consumer experience. These nonvolatile data sets – including calibration constants, background conditions, user preferences
and changing noise environments – often are adjusted by the end system or user a few bytes at a time. Serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory
(EEPROM) is the memory of choice for these applications providing nonvolatility, byte-level control, ease-of-use and low-power consumption. Microchip Technology
Inc. announced its new, highest-density EEPROM – the 25CSM04. At 4 Mbit, Microchip’s new EEPROM becomes the largest EEPROM available to developers,
doubling the 2 Mbit density designers previously were limited to. Until now developers have used lower-cost NOR Flash integrated circuits (ICs) for any 2 Mbit+
nonvolatile data set application. Because EEPROM offers performance advantages over NOR Flash, Microchip has responded to customer requests by introducing a
larger 4 Mbit EEPROM. EEPROM advantages include a lower standby current (2 µA vs. 15 µA); the ability to perform single-byte, multi-byte, and full-page writes;
shorter sector erase/rewrite times (5ms vs.300ms); and more erase/rewrite cycles (1M vs 100K). The 25CSM04 becomes part of Microchip’s extensive nonvolatile
memory product portfolio that integrates within Microchip’s total system solutions built around its 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers and microprocessors.
Microchip’s extensive memory product family includes serial EEPROMs, NOR Flash, SRAM, and EERAM in all standard serial buses and all standard densities from
128-bit to 64 Mbit.

Solution Description
In a world first, Sharp Corporation developed a device equipped with Plasmacluster technology, which exposed an airborne novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) to Plasmacluster
ions for approximately 30 seconds, and demonstrated that the virus infectious titer was reduced more than 90%. This achievement was accomplished in collaboration with
Professor Jiro Yasuda of the National Research Center for the Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases/Institute of Tropical Medicine, Nagasaki University, Professor
Asuka Nanbo (a Board member of the Japanese Society for Virology) of the same institution, and Professor Hironori Yoshiyama of the Department of Microbiology, Shimane
University Faculty of Medicine (also a Board member of the Japanese Society for Virology), and in cooperation with Nagasaki University, an internationally respected authority
on infectious disease research. In December 2019, an outbreak of “Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)” caused by a novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was reported, and
by August 2020, more than 25 million people have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 and more than 840,000 individuals died of this infectious disease in a world*5. This
outbreak represents an urgent problem facing society, and demands that immediate countermeasures be taken across a wide range of fields. In 2004, Sharp demonstrated the
effectiveness of Plasmacluster technology against feline (cat) coronavirus, a member of the Coronaviridae family*6. In the following year, 2005, Sharp also demonstrated its

Safety Applications
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
47
Solution Description
STMicroelectronics has added new fast-starting devices to its family of intelligent power switches for safety-instrumented systems. With power-on delay time of less than 60µs,
the IPS160HF and IPS161HF satisfy standardized requirements for interface types C and D in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Class 3 applications. Featuring a wide input-voltage
range of 8V-60V, maximum switch resistance (RDS (on)) of 120mΩ, and10µs rise/fall time with 20µs propagation delay, these devices combine design flexibility, low power
dissipation, and fast response. Extended diagnostics facilitate the design of safety-instrumented functions by indicating open load, over-current cut-off, and over-temperature
shutdown. The IPS160HF and IPS161HF safely drive complex resistive, capacitive, and inductive loads with one side connected to ground, such as valves, relays, and lamps.
In addition to SIL-rated applications such as safety sensors, they can be used in general factory-automation and process-control equipment such as Programmable Logic
Controllers (PLCs), I/O peripherals, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. As intelligent power switches, the IPS160HF and IPS161HF integrate a logic interface,

At the beginning of the wash cycle, the integrated unit indicates how long it will take to complete both washing and drying. The washer also shares information with the dryer, which automatically sets the optimal course and preheats the drum, contributing to better results and shorter overall laundry times. For the unique design of WashTower, LG designers went to great lengths to ensure maximum ease-of-use. Unlike a stackable washer and dryer where each appliance has its own control panel, the WashTower boasts the convenience of a single, intuitive interface. Located between the washer and dryer for easy access, the all-in-one Center Control makes it simple to manage every aspect of LG’s complete laundry solution. With the height of LG WashTower approximately 87 millimeters lower than the average combined height of stackable units, loading and unloading the top-mounted dryer is measurably easier. And WashTower doesn’t scrimp on capacity, with a maximum load of 17 kilograms for the washer and 16 kilograms for the dryer. Incorporating LG’s most-advanced laundry and smart technologies, LG WashTower provides customers with both outstanding performance and ease-of-use. Thanks to TurboWash™ 360° and Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive™ (AI DD™), the washer feature guarantees fast, gentle and cleaner clothes, detecting the weight and softness of clothing to calculate the best setting for every load. Its advanced AI reduces cycle times and energy usage without sacrificing effectiveness while the dryer utilizes LG’s steam technology to deliver maximum hygiene, eliminating 99.99 percent of common bacteria.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Microchip (USA) Announces High-Speed CoaXPress 2.0 Devices that Speed Machine Vision Image Capture While Simplifying System Design and Deployment For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 31 Solution Description Until the 12.5Gbps CoaXPress® 2.0 interface standard was ratified last year, machine-vision image-capture solutions had replaced conveyor belts as the primary roadblock to achieving faster production-line throughput. Now, Microchip Technology Inc. has taken the next step toward realizing the full potential of CoaXPress (CXP) on the factory floor with the first single-chip physical-layer interface devices to include features that streamline machine vision system design, maximize transmission speed and simplify deployment in high-volume bottling operations, food inspection, industrial inspection and imaging applications. Microchip’s EQCO125X40 family of CoaXPress devices is the first to implement the CXP 2.0 standard, starting from a new backward compatible design based on the specification, with an integrated clock data recovery (CDR) at all speed levels and a camera-side clock to support the demands of real-world environments. The devices significantly increase machine-vision processing throughput by enabling cameras and capture cards to transmit four to eight times faster than alternative solutions. In addition, these devices enable four times the cable/link distance with much lower power and near-zero latency. The product family also increases design tolerances and flexibility by seamlessly locking on all frequencies at any speed, from CXP-1 to CXP-12, and eliminates the need for multiple channels by supporting 12.5Gbps of bandwidth over a single cable. Broader cabling options ensure systems can be installed where needed and the integrated CDR improves jitter performance for the signal sent from the camera to the capture card. The on-camera low-frequency clock recovery eliminates the need to program a separate clock in the FPGA. The integrated link signal integrity testing enables the system to perform real-time checks of cable link integrity before and during operations.

This outbreak represents an urgent problem facing society, and demands that immediate countermeasures be taken across a wide range of fields. In 2004, Sharp demonstrated the effectiveness of Plasmacluster technology against feline (cat) coronavirus, a member of the Coronaviridae family*6. In the following year, 2005, Sharp also demonstrated its effectiveness against the original SARS coronavirus*7 (SARS-CoV), which caused the outbreak (2002-2003) and genetically similar to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Now, Sharp has demonstrated its effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 in airbornedroplets.

With power-on delay time of less than 60µs, the IPS160HF and IPS161HF satisfy standardized requirements for interface types C and D in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Class 3 applications. Featuring a wide input-voltage range of 8V-60V, maximum switch resistance (RDS (on)) of 120mΩ, and10µs rise/fall time with 20µs propagation delay, these devices combine design flexibility, low power dissipation, and fast response. Extended diagnostics facilitate the design of safety-instrumented functions by indicating open load, over-current cut-off, and over-temperature shutdown. The IPS160HF and IPS161HF safely drive complex resistive, capacitive, and inductive loads with one side connected to ground, such as valves, relays, and lamps. In addition to SIL-rated applications such as safety sensors, they can be used in general factory-automation and process-control equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), I/O peripherals, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. As intelligent power switches, the IPS160HF and IPS161HF integrate a logic interface, driving circuitry, various protection features, and an N-channel power-MOSFET output stage. The output stage is internally limited at 2.5A minimum output current for the IPS160HF and 0.7A for the IPS161HF. Both devices withstand an applied supply voltage of up to 65V and integrate active-clamp circuitry for handling inductive loads. Built-in safeguards include ground-disconnect and VCC-disconnect protection, thermal shutdown, undervoltage lock-out, and short-circuit cut-off to protect the IC, the application, and the load against overstress. The cut-off acts after a delay time, which is programmed with an external capacitor, and provides non-dissipative protection that minimizes overheating.
