Progress Announces Third Quarter 2020 Financial Results
Third Quarter 2020 Highlights:
• Revenue of $109.7 million increased 3% year-over-year on an actual and
constant currency basis.
• Non-GAAP revenue of $110.9 million decreased 4% on an actual and
constant currency basis.
• Operating margin was 30% and Non-GAAP operating margin was 42%.
• Diluted earnings per share was $0.53 compared to $0.30 in the same
quarter last year, an increase of 77%.
• Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share was $0.78 compared to $0.75 in
the same quarter last year, an increase of 4%.
• On September 8, 2020, we announced a definitive agreement to acquire
Chef Software, a global leader in the growing Dev Ops and DevSecOps
markets.

Progress Completes Acquisition of Chef
Progress, the leading provider of application development and digital experience
technologies, announced the completion of the acquisition of Chef Software, a global
leader in DevOps and DevSecOps, providing complete infrastructure automation to
build, deploy, manage and secure applications in modern multi-cloud and hybrid
environments, as well as on-premises. Progress announced the proposed acquisition
on September 8th. Progress is a trusted provider of the best products to develop,
deploy and manage high-impact business applications. As part of Progress, Chef will
further enhance that position by providing industry-leading compliance and
application automation products for multi-cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Chef
products include Chef® Enterprise Automation Stack™, Chef® Infra™, Chef®
InSpec®, Chef® Habitat®, Chef® Compliance™ and Chef® Desktop™.Progress
purchased Chef for $220 million in cash. Progress funded the transaction with
existing cash on hand and borrowings under its existing credit facility. The
transaction is expected to be accretive beginning in Q1 FY2021 to both non-GAAP
earnings per share and cash flow.

of buyer intent on a finite number of topics because of heavy data processing that takes days to complete,

Blending Cisco's AppDynamics with its freshly acquired ThousandEyes is giving customers increased visibility from mobile devices all
the way to the cloud and beyond. The Covid-19 pandemic has heightened the need for better visibility across the cloud, devices and
networks, which means the pairing of AppDynamics and ThousandEyes was timely.Cisco announced in May that it was buying
network-monitoring company ThousandEyes and then closed the deal in August. While Cisco didn't disclose the financial terms,
Bloomberg reported that Cisco would pay close to $1 billion to buy ThousandEyes.ThousandEyes' cloud agents are external vantage
points that are distributed globally across its points of presence, while its enterprise agents are software-based and can be installed on
networks, data centers and branch offices.Increased network visibility is especially important as customers migrate toward multi-cloud
environments. Multi-cloud usage is being driven by infrastructure-as-a-service, software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service use
cases. In addition, the dynamic nature of the cloud makes it even harder to proactively monitor networks.Three-years ago, Cisco bought
AppDynamics for $3.7 billion to provide application visibility to help Cisco's customers find and fix application performance issues.

SYCL open standards products, developers targeting the RVV for AI accelerators will be able to program RISC-V’s open hardware implementations using
familiar C++, easily port existing code from other AI systems and take advantage of an extensive ecosystem of tools, libraries, training and skilled talent.
Applications using this architecture range from high performance computing (“HPC”), automotive, and machine learning. The development is being defined

for outstanding participation in the Smart Futures program, which provides paid work experience, mentoring and skills development. The program is
part of the EY Foundation, a UK charity helping young people from low-income backgrounds access employment opportunities. Blue Prism
collaborated with EY Foundation to provide local students participating in Smart Futures with a variety of transferable skills and real workplace
experience to help them identify their next step, whether that’s university, an apprenticeship, or a job. The company’s participation in this program is
part of a broader corporate commitment to supporting various community causes and charities, which falls under Blue Prism for Good. Over the course
of the past year, Blue Prism has sponsored a number of local students coming from low-income families and provided a comprehensive program that
covers everything from an overview of intelligent automation to a hands-on “automation challenge” that requires hands-on presentation skills. These
students were also matched with mentors in charge of providing tactical advice and guidance throughout the course of the program.When the program
initially began, only 50 percent of students reported knowing which skills were needed to get a job in the technology industry. That number quickly rose
to 96 percent. Additionally, when asked if they would be interested in pursuing a career in automation, the number went from 29 percent to 58 percent

The program is part of the EY Foundation, a UK charity helping young people from low-income backgrounds access employment opportunities. Blue Prism collaborated with EY Foundation to provide local students participating in Smart Futures with a variety of transferable skills and real workplace experience to help them identify their next step, whether that’s university, an apprenticeship, or a job. The company’s participation in this program is part of a broader corporate commitment to supporting various community causes and charities, which falls under Blue Prism for Good. Over the course of the past year, Blue Prism has sponsored a number of local students coming from low-income families and provided a comprehensive program that covers everything from an overview of intelligent automation to a hands-on “automation challenge” that requires hands-on presentation skills. These students were also matched with mentors in charge of providing tactical advice and guidance throughout the course of the program.When the program initially began, only 50 percent of students reported knowing which skills were needed to get a job in the technology industry. That number quickly rose to 96 percent.
