Powered by GE Technology, YPF Luz’s La Plata Cogeneration II Plant Achieves
Commercial Operation in Argentina
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
3
Solution Description
GE and YPF Luz, the power generation subsidiary of Argentina’s largest energy company YPF, announced that La Plata Cogeneration II combined heat and power (CHP) plant
achieved the start of commercial operation, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Powered by GE’s 6F gas turbine technology, the new cogeneration plant
is expected to add approximately 90 megawatts (MW) to the existing 128 MW powering La Plata Industrial Complex (CILP), and it’s expected to become the cogeneration
complex with the highest capacity output in Argentina. La Plata Cogeneration II is in the city of Ensenada, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2017, YPF Luz selected
A-Evangelista (AESA), YPF's construction and engineering unit to build La Plata Cogeneration II plant, adjacent to the existing 128 MW La Plata Cogeneración I site. One
year later, engineers from GE and FieldCore, GE’s owned field services company, started to work in tandem to install and commission the GE equipment. As the COVID-19
pandemic spread, GE and FieldCore implemented additional safety measures including more frequent disinfections at the site, physical distancing, and the use of personal
protective equipment such as masks and gloves to ensure the safe completion of the project. La Plata Cogeneración II deploys a GE’s 6F.03 gas turbine, Mark VIeS Safety
Integrity Level (SIL) controllers, a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) with supplemental firing and a A34 generator. GE’s 6F.03 gas turbine is equipped with cutting-edge
Dry Low NOx (DLN) 2.6+ combustion system to considerably reduce the NOx, SOX and particulate emissions, as well as upgraded Advanced Gas Path (AGP) turbine module
components for increased output and efficiency—making it the most advance 6F in the GE fleet. Cogeneration, or Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is a highly efficient process
that generates electricity and captures the steam generated in the HRSG to provide useful thermal energy that can be used for space heating, cooling, domestic hot water and
for industrial processes, without additional fuel consumption. The cogeneration system at La Plata Cogeneration, powered by a single 6F.03 gas turbine, is a great fit for this
application by delivering up to 600 GJ/hr steam for export.

Honeywell Introduces Next-Generation Catalyst To Address 'Smell In
Cabin' Events
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
5
Solution Description
Honeywell has unveiled a new catalyst designed for aircraft cabin air systems that can help reduce delays, cancellations and unscheduled maintenance
due to in-cabin odors from certain volatile organic compounds in "bleed air" — also known as undesirable "smell-in-cabin" events. In clinical tests,
Honeywell's fourth-generation Combined Hydrocarbon Ozone Catalyst, CHOC4, has proved capable of removing two to three times more VOCs that
cause undesired odors compared with other solutions. Honeywell's solution has also been shown to be more effective in the removal of ozone at lower
temperatures. Air supplied to a cabin for air conditioning and pressurization, also known as bleed air, comes directly from the engines and auxiliary
power unit. Sometimes it contains volatile organic compounds (VOCs), fumes or particles from sources like jet fuel, hydraulic oils or de-icing fluid.
When VOCs enter the cabin through the bleed air, they can cause unwanted odors in the cabin, resulting in delays. Honeywell's new proprietary catalyst
CHOC4 is applied to an aircraft's ozone converter to catalyze or absorb compounds that cause undesirable odors. It can be applied during normal
maintenance as an upgrade to the existing converter unit at a fraction of the cost of a new unit. It is available now for Airbus A320 aircraft, with plans
to expand to additional platforms in early 2021. Thousands of passenger, cargo and military aircraft worldwide are currently flying with Honeywell
environmental, air and thermal systems on board. Now, Honeywell is using its decades of experience developing cabin air-management systems to help
improve in-flight comfort.

Honeywell's New Advanced Technology Detects Airborne particles,
Allergens and Spores In Homes and Buildings
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
6
Solution Description
Honeywell announced a new airborne particle analyzer that uses artificial intelligence and cloud computing to enable HVAC service providers and
environmental testing professionals to better inform home and building owners of the quantity and type of particles present in the air. Airborne particles,
allergens and spores affect the quality of life for more than 400 million people worldwide – for example, poor indoor air quality has been found to cause
allergic rhinitis, which Americans spend more than $3 billion each year.1 Honeywell Air Detective is a breakthrough technology that can capture images and
details of those allergens and particles in the air. The Honeywell Air Detective allows HVAC service providers and environmental testing professionals to
evaluate indoor air quality in near real-time with an easy-to-use mobile app that can be accessed on a tablet or emailed directly to the homeowner. This
detailed evaluation, including images of the particles, can help homeowners and building managers make informed decisions about how to improve the air
inside their homes or buildings. The Honeywell Air Detective is a handheld and lightweight, lens-less microscope that can be easily carried by a field
technician to classify types of particles present in the air, including spores and various pollen species. It leverages powerful industrial analytics software and
deep learning algorithms that are trained on specific pollen and spore species. The Honeywell Air Detective uses disposable air analysis cartridges to collect
particles, photograph them, and automate the classification process onsite. In the past, professionals would have collected and shipped the air sample off to
a lab where a technician would be spending tedious hours analyzing the sample under a microscope before providing a detailed report.

Solution Description
NVIDIA Research’s latest AI model is a prodigy among generative adversarial networks. Using a fraction of the study material needed
by a typical GAN, it can learn skills as complex as emulating renowned painters and recreating images of cancer tissue. By applying a
breakthrough neural network training technique to the popular NVIDIA StyleGAN2 model, NVIDIA researchers reimagined artwork
based on fewer than 1,500 images from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Using NVIDIA DGX systems to accelerate training, they
generated new AI art inspired by the historical portraits. The technique — called adaptive discriminator augmentation, or ADA — reduces
the number of training images by 10-20x while still getting great results. The same method could someday have a significant impact in
healthcare, for example by creating cancer histology images to help train other AI models. The research paper behind this project is being
presented this week at the annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems, known as NeurIPS. It’s one of a record 28
NVIDIA Research papers accepted to the prestigious conference. This new method is the latest in a legacy of GAN innovation by
NVIDIA researchers, who’ve developed groundbreaking GAN-based models for the AI painting app GauGAN, the game engine
mimicker GameGAN, and the pet photo transformer GANimal. All are available on the NVIDIAAI Playground.

Pinterest Trains Visual Search Faster with Optimized Architecture on
NVIDIA GPUs
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
11
Solution Description
Pinterest now has more than 440 million reasons to offer the best visual search experience. That’s because its monthly active users are tracking this
high for its popular image sharing and social media service. Visual search enables Pinterest users to search for images using text, screenshots or
camera photos. It’s the core AI behind how people build their Boards of Pins — collections of images by themes — around their interests and
plans. It’s also how people on Pinterest can take action on the inspiration they discover, such as shopping and making purchases based on the
products within scenes. But tracking more than 240 billion images and 5 billion Boards is no small data trick. This requires visual embeddings —
mathematical representations of objects in a scene. Visual embeddings use models for automatically generating and evaluating visualizations to
show how similar two images are — say, a sofa in a TV show’s living room compared to ones for sale at retailers. Pinterest is improving its search
results by pretraining its visual embeddings on a smaller dataset. The overall goal is to improve for one unified visual embedding that can perform
well for its key business features. Powered by NVIDIA V100 Tensor Core GPUs, this technique pre-trains Pinterest’s neural nets on a subset of
about 1.3 billion images to yield improved relevancy across the wider set of hundreds of billions of images. Improving results on the unified visual
embedding in this fashion can benefit all applications on Pinterest, said Josh Beal, a machine learning researcher for Visual Search at the company.

Rimini Street Awarded Three Brazilian Public Sector Contracts to
Support Oracle and SAP Enterprise Software Systems
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
24
Rimini Street, Inc. a global provider of enterprise software products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP software products and a
Salesforce partner, announced that it has been awarded three separate contracts to provide enterprise software support to agencies linked to the Legislative, Executive
and Judiciary branches of the Brazilian government, specifically the Chamber of Deputies, the Superior Labor Court and APEX Brasil, an independent social service
agency. The Brazilian government public procurement processes were put in place to ensure that public sector organizations work with providers in a manner that is
transparent, efficient, ensures economy of scales and the best optimization of public resources. In 2019 the Ministry of Economy, which is responsible for planning the
whole of Brazil’s budget, issued a mandate – Normative Instructions 01 and 02 – requiring all public sector organizations to carefully evaluate their IT costs in general,
including technical support services and IT systems providers, to ensure the most attractive cost-benefit ratio. Those regulations were preceded by a decision from 2018
(Ruling 2,569/2018) issued by the Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU), which is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that public entities are spending their funds
judiciously and on activities and items that have been earmarked specifically for these funds. That ruling had demonstrated that some commercial practices adopted by
the major IT providers could cause losses to the public administration, guiding institutions to seek more advantageous alternatives that could favor competition. The
mandate also provides that the Brazilian federal public administration prioritize the improvement of services to its citizens, ensuring that investments made in the R$ 8
billion Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector for these services benefit the wider public need. Technology has a fundamental role in the
government/citizen relationship and therefore the resources directed to it need to be extremely well managed with transparency.

Honeywell, a global leader in connected buildings, and Signify the world leader in lighting, announced a strategic alliance to deploy integrated, smart lighting
solutions for commercial buildings. Together, the companies aim to improve the occupant experience – focusing on productivity and well-being – and to reduce
energy consumption. The collaboration integrates Signify's Interact connected lighting system and software, and its UV-C disinfection lighting, with Honeywell
Building Management Systems and the Honeywell Forge enterprise performance management platform. The combined offerings will manage energy consumption
while factoring in occupancy along with air quality indicators such as temperature and humidity. Signify's lighting solutions* will complement Honeywell's
Healthy Buildings air quality solutions beginning in early 2021, and can be controlled, measured and monitored via the Healthy Buildings dashboard to understand
air and surface cleaning compliance and metrics. Signify offers additional elements to improve productivity and well-being. These elements include human-centric
lighting, such as NatureConnect, and UV-C disinfection lighting. UV-C breaks down the DNA or RNA of micro-organisms, including viruses and bacteria,
rendering them harmless. In laboratory testing, Signify's UV-C light sources reduced SARS-CoV-2 virus infectivity on a surface to below detectable levels in as
few as 9 seconds. Additionally, building owners and operators will be able to better manage lighting systems and energy efficiency with smart LED lighting
systems. Lighting represents 17% of all electricity used in U.S. commercial buildings according to the Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey, making
it the largest end use of electricity in buildings. Similar usage rates are seen globally. Signify's connected LED lighting system Interact Office can save up to 70%
of the energy used for lighting4 and deploying advanced building controls and sensing, like those from Honeywell, can save up to 30% in facility energy costs.

3D Systems Announces Launch of Environmental, Social & Governance
Initiative
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
32
3D Systems announced the launch of its Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) initiative – formalizing its commitment to taking action on global environmental, social, and health issues. This is a foundational
element helping the company achieve its strategic purpose as the leaders in enabling additive manufacturing solutions for applications in growing markets that demand high-reliability products.
The 3D Systems ESG initiative includes three areas which are core to the company’s daily operations:
• Environmental Responsibility highlights the commitment to identifying and advocating for more sustainable options to reduce 3D Systems’ and its customers’ effect on the environment by replacing, optimizing, and
creating processes that will help eliminate waste and reduce carbon emissions. Additive manufacturing plays a vital role in sustainability efforts through optimized part designs. For example, an airplane component can
now weigh less yet perform more efficiently resulting in lowered fuel costs and environmental impact. Additionally, because additive manufacturing only uses the material needed to produce the final part, there is
substantially less production waste than traditional manufacturing. 3D Systems has also undertaken efforts within the company to reduce its carbon footprint. In 2019, 3D Systems reduced its real estate assets by 10%
resulting in lowering CO2 emissions by nearly 2.8 million pounds.1
• Social Responsibility demonstrates an alliance with social causes and giving back to the communities where its employees live and work. 3D Systems’ efforts as the COVID-19 pandemic escalated showcased its
desire to give back as the company issued a call to action to its customers and partners to share resources – producing and delivering much needed nasopharyngeal swabs, ventilator valves, and PPE. This month, the
company also launched the 3D Systems Gives Back global giving campaign. This platform allows 3D Systems employees, families, and friends to donate to charities that are providing much-needed assistance for the
COVID-19 response, as well as those advancing efforts that target social justice and diversity.
• Responsible Practices & Governance whereby the company holds itself accountable to ethical and responsible practices and policies, including those related to employee health and safety. For 3D Systems, conducting
its business on a highly ethical level is at the core of its business principles. The company’s Code of Conduct sets the ethical and legal standards of behavior and business practices that are required of all its employees
and those of its subsidiaries globally. As a result, 3D Systems requires all board members and employees to complete training and certify compliance with its Code annually. 3D Systems’ employees are vital to the
organizations’ success, and their health and safety is the company’s number one priority. As a result, 3D Systems not only continues to invest in safety standards and wellness policies and programs, but the company also
continues to exceed industry-wide safety targets. For example, in 2019 3D Systems reported an incident rate of 0.72 which is 76% lower than the additive manufacturing industry standard of 3.0.2
