Docker Raises $23 Million to Capitalize on Accelerating Demand for Modern Apps
and to Increase Developer Velocity

teams, announced $23 million in Series B funding led by Silicon Valley venture capital firm Tribe Capital,
with participation from existing investors Benchmark and Insight Partners. This round brings Docker’s total
funding to $58 million. Tribe Capital Co-Founder and Partner will join Docker’s Board of Directors. The
investment will be used to drive further product innovation for millions of developers who rely on Docker
for simplicity, choice and speed when building modern applications. The funding comes after a year of
accelerating momentum for Docker, including year-over-year ARR growth of 170%. Nearly 7.5 million
developers and development teams, including those at Netflix, Wachovia and Orbital Sciences, rely on

remains significant among developers with approximately 30 billion image pulls on Docker in the fourth

Merck Accelerates European Expansion Plans for Single-use Products Critical to
Manufacturing Vaccines and Lifesaving Therapies
Merck, a leading science and technology company, will add a single-use assembly
production unit at its Life Science Center in Molsheim, France. With the € 25 million
investment, the company is accelerating its European expansion plans for this key
technology, which is used for the production of Covid-19 vaccines and other lifesaving
therapies. Molsheim will be the first site in Europe where Merck manufactures the product.
Further production sites are located in Danvers, Massachusetts, USA, and Wuxi, China. The
project was announced in Molsheim in the presence of EU Commissioner Thierry Breton and
the French Minister Delegate for Industry, Agnès Pannier-Runacher. The investment in
Molsheim will add more than 350 new jobs in total along with 1,700 square meters of ISO7
or ISO5 cleanrooms, using modular building design and existing infrastructure to allow
future expansions without any disruptions. The new unit will produce Mobius® single-use
assemblies, a key offering that is part of Merck’s Mobius® MyWay program. It is planned to
be operational by the end of 2021. With more than 1,700 employees of 32 different
nationalities, and producing more than 10,000 products, the Molsheim hub is Merck’s third
largest site globally. It supplies the world market, exporting more than 85 percent of its
production. It hosts three production units dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of
products and solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and applied solutions
products for analysis in clinical and industrial environments and water purification systems.

As part of its ongoing commitment to renewable energy, Merck, a leading science and technology company, has signed a 12-year,
off-site, virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Enel Green Power for the construction of a future wind and storage project
in Texas, United States. Taking on 68 MW of the Azure Sky wind and storage project’s 350 MW of capacity paired with a 137 MW
battery, Merck is an anchor buyer within the Net Zero Consortium for Buyers. This aggregation of corporations was organized by the
Sustainability Roundtable, Inc., which brings companies together to approach the renewable energy market with an aggregated
renewable energy need, thus providing access to VPPA's which were previously only accessible to companies with outsized energy
needs. The agreement – which is among the largest aggregation deals in the world – will deliver Renewable Energy Certificates to
match 65% of Merck’s U.S. electricity consumption or 100% of the Life Science business' U.S. electricity consumption. The Azure
Sky wind project will be located west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Throckmorton County, Texas, United States. Merck’s portion
of the project is equivalent to approximately 14 wind turbines that stand nearly 183 meters tall. The project is expected to be
operational by the first half of 2022.
