Laundry carrier for personal wear
Description of GB780127 (A)
I, JOYCE EVELYN WOJCIK, Of Briish
nationality, of 34 Ram Gorse, Harlow, Essex, do hereby declare the
invention, for which I pray that a patent may be granted to me, and
the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly
described in
and by the following statement:-
This invention relates to laundry carriers, and has for its object to
provide a dual purpose article, namely one in which the laundry
carrier is convertible to a washing apron.
A laundry carrier according to the present invention comprises an
apron with an inflatable "basket" attached at the front.
This "basket" deflates, folds flat against the apron and snaps on to
it, thus forming a washing apron. The basket may be stiffened by
whaleboning, canvas, or other means instead of by inflation. It may
also have a pocket at the top to hold clothes pegs.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing accompanying the
Provisional Specification, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of
the laundry carrier inflated, whilst Figure 2 is a similar view of the
carrier deflated and snapped flat to form the washing apron.
Referring to Figure 1, the carrier is formed of any suitable material,
such for example as rubber, rubberised fabric, or plastic. The carrier
consists of an apron b, which is non-inflatable, to the top of which
may be attached a pocket c in which pegs may be carried. To this apron
is attached a large "pocket" or "basket" a, which is stiffened by
means of inflation. It may have an inflation orifice in any convenient
position. This "basket" may be stiffened by means other than
inflation, for example whaleboning, canvas, or other means. The
carrier may be made in any convenient way well known to the trade.
Figure 2 shows the carrier deflated and snapped flat by snap fasteners
d forming a washing apron. This apron may be made in any suitable
2. shape, with supporting straps.
